What to Pack

  • The 6 Ps Checklist

Health Facility Evacuation Information

Childcare

  • To support families impacted by the Eaton fire, LA County Parks Care Camps will provide youth and teens with a supportive space for fun and recreation including music, arts and crafts, sports activities and field trips to the LA County Natural History Museum, La Brea Tar Pits, Dodger Stadium, & more. Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided daily; teens will also get supper.
  • Update Jan 12, 2025:  All our locations except for Pamela Park Teen programs are sold-out.  If you would like to be placed on a waiting list please click the link below and fill out your information.  They will contact you as soon as they have an available spot.
  • YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is offering free childcare for children TK-8th grade
  • Up to 3 days of child care or camps through Bumo

Transportation

  • Uber: Residents in Los Angeles County who’ve been ordered to vacate their homes can get a credit from Uber to get to an evacuation site. The $40 will only be valid for trips to an active shelter and by using the code WILDFIRE25.
  • Lyft: Lyft announced it will be offering $25 vouchers, valid for two trips, to 500 customers from now until midnight on Jan. 15. Use the code CAFIRERELIEF25 to get the promotion.

Property Records, Birth Records

  • Los Angeles County residents directly impacted by fires can request property  at no cost to support their recovery efforts. Anyone in need of vital records should call us at 800-201-8999 and select Option 1, followed by Option 2, or email recorder@rrcc.lacounty.gov for assistance.

Utilities

Insurance

  • California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara issued a mandatory, one-year moratorium on insurance non-renewals and cancellations for zip codes in areas impacted by the Palisades and Eaton fires
  • Search your zip code at insurance.ca.gov 

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)

  • Temporary displacement assistance (e.g., hotel costs for 2 weeks)
  • $770 for essential personal items
  • Large grants for needs like medical bills and car repairs
  • FEMA will be at the following libraries on Sunday, January 12 and Monday, January 13 from 9 am to 5 pm to help residents impacted by the Los Angeles County wildfires.

Price Gouging Information & Reporting

  • If the government declares an emergency, increasing the price of goods and services 10% or more may be price gouging
  • If you believe you have been improperly overcharged for goods, services, or housing, keep your records and receipts, and file a price gouging complaint using DCBA’s online complaint reporting tool. There, you can report the location of the incident and upload documents directly to DCBA’s investigators for follow-up. You can also reach DCBA by phone at (800) 593-8222.
