SwapShop FAQs

What categories of goods can I bring with me to trade?

Goods from the following categories will be accepted for trade:

How does the trading process work?

The SwapShop will have booths set up and organized by the above categories. When you arrive, you’ll trade in your gently used good(s) and receive 1 ticket for each item. Your tickets can then be used to “buy” goods from any table. Every item brought in will cost 1 ticket.

We’ll be partnering with local retailers that are committed to sustainable commerce. Representatives from those companies will be helping us manage the booths that most closely relate to their businesses.

What condition should the items be in?

All items you bring in to trade should be gently used and in almost new condition. This means minimal scuffs and marks on items like shoes, fully functional kitchen tools, etc. Think about what you would actually want to take home yourself.

What happens to anything that doesn’t get traded?

We’re partnering with local organizations and non-profits like Martha’s Table and Community Forklift who will be onsite to take home any relevant goods that don’t get traded by community members like yourself. Any items that are not in a condition suitable for charitable donation will be turned away.

Is there a limit on items that I can bring?

Each person will receive a maximum of 15 tickets, but you’re welcome to bring more gently used goods and donate them to the swap!
