Come join the Research Presentation Club! Practice presenting a talk/poster of your choice with the JHPDA Research Presentation Club! Receive feedback from a friendly audience of fellow postdocs and graduate students. Each month’s event also features valuable tips from an expert in presentation skills.

Not yet ready for a talk? Come and listen to a fellow postdoc practice over lunch (provided!) and help out by providing feedback.

Games are 1 hour in duration, starting at 6:30, 7:30, or 8:30 on Wednesday nights. The season will be approximately 8 weeks long.

Volunteer with APS- Phun week, Nov 9-10

The Diversity Postdoctoral Alliance Committee (DPAC) invites you to participate in Physiology Understanding (Phun) week sponsored by the American Physiological Society. Every year hundreds of scientists partner with local elementary/middle schools to promote physiology and STEM to young students via fun, interactive, hands-on learning activities. You can participate in one day or both days.

When: Nov. 9-10 (Wed-Thu), 12:30-3pm (each day)

Participate in OMOL STEM Mentoring with Diversity Postdoc Alliance Committee

The Diversity Postdoctoral Alliance Committee (DPAC) invites you to participate in the One More One Less (OMOL) Mentoring STEM program. Volunteers are needed to serve as shadowing mentors. The scholars will not perform hands on activities - only shadow.

When:  Every 3rd Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm, once per month for 9 months

Johns Hopkins University Scholarly Publishing Symposium, Wed., Nov 9th

John Hopkins University and Elsevier will offer the Johns Hopkins research community a Scholarly Publishing Symposium. The symposium will feature multiple sessions designed to provide a better understanding of scholarly publishing, including insight into how to better position your papers for acceptance.  Elsevier publishers will lead the sessions with support from Johns Hopkins faculty editors.  The sessions will underscore the distinct perspectives, experiences and recommendations from experts within the publishing industry and those who serve as reviewers in their fields of study.
