My Pauli Boy,

I have been to 5 shops to get your pants etc. & I’m so worried not to have got them yet – but on Monday I shall without doubt send you the parcel. I only hope you are keeping on the soiled ones, or borrowing from Stephen[1] – & just now there is such a cold snap in the air – The shops are out of winter weights & their Summer weights are too thin. But I must be successful on Monday. I shall get one size larger than your pattern.

What a nice 1/2 day we spent with you both last Saturday – & how sorry we were not to hear the finish of Stef’s lecture!

Mrs K. was v. friendly taking me out to

the Greenhouse to see her flowers – But to be with my dear Sons was what delighted my heart –

About engaging Mr. Lee’s rooms for next term speech day, will you inquire about it. a double bed-room & a sitting-room for one night?

As I have told Stef in my letter, Daddy[2] left for France yesterday– Hotel Bellevue, Cannes.

The house keeper, Miſs [Featherstone?] arrived this afternoon. She seems nice – I have Miſs Richardson here doing work, she has such an excellent dependable character.

Henry[3] came up some days ago. & stayed till later in the evening – He is looking v. well, has been rowing – He bought me some lovely violets.

Today Consty[4] came to tea with the two Sandemans – such nice girls of about 10 & 12 – also Georgina Henshel[5] [sic] – Pat[6] & John[7] had a fine time at hide-&-seek with them.

Good-night my Pauly boy. A big hug from

Mum.
