How to make your own Art Feed
(Literally step-by-step)
Please @ me if you need any help: https://bsky.app/profile/kellienicely.bsky.social
This guide will show the screenshot first and the accompanying text below it.
You will need to link your BlueSky account with Skyfeed through a temporary password so Skyfeed can access what it needs but it cannot fully access your account. (If you have already done this, scroll down to Creating the Feed)
Go to Skyfeed: https://skyfeed.app/#/
Click that icon
It’ll take you to BlueSky. Click Add App Password.
Click Create App Password
Copy it and click done.
Then login to Skyfeed with what you copied
Creating the Feed
Once you’ve done that:
Click Feed Builder
Click the drop down arrow
Click Create Feed
(You actually don’t have to do this step and can just work with the feed provided when you first click Feed Builder but you now know where to go if you want to create a new feed)
Change the name to whatever you want the feed name to be.
Click the drop down for the Input box (First block you see)
Change it to Single User
Click Select Yourself
You can also select if you want it to include replies and reposts by clicking them if you want.
Go onto the next block. Click the drop down and select Image Count.
Use those settings. This will remove any post without an image (thus remove if image count is 0).
This is because all art posts will be an image post, so we want to remove any text only posts.
Move onto the next block. The RegEx block lets you filter by words.
For you to make an “Art Only Feed” you will need to use a keyword when you make your art posts.
This is so that when you post a plant picture without that keyword, it will not show up on your art feed. But if you choose your keyword to be “#art,” any post you make with “#art” and it includes at least one image - it will show up here.
You can also click Image Alt Text if you want to have the feed include searching text from your image alt text.
Change the name of the feed because you forgot to.
Keep “Sort By” like that so that it will show the latest posts first.
You can sort it other ways if you would like.
Now click “Publish Feed”
Upload avatar image if you would like.
Type stuff in the description.
Click Publish
Once done, it will generate and publish your feed and provide you with a link. You can click it.
And it is published! To note the items marked above:
Note: You can rearrange the order of your feeds by clicking “My Feeds” > Click gear icon in the middle, top right area > then press the up or down arrows to arrange the feeds.
And you are done! Hooray! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You can now also apply this to other interests as well such as having your own plant feed or your cats feed - you’ll just need a keyword or emoji to tag your plants or your cat photos. And include that keyword or emoji each time you take a pic of your cat or plant, etc.
