Advice from a swing voter
I think over the years I've voted everyone but Tory at some election or other. One thing is for sure though, if I do put a vote your way, it'll be in the #1 slot. Under STV it is of utmost importance that minority and independent candidates are ranked #1 as that vote has immediate power but isn't wasted if you're not elected. An SNP1 Harald2 vote has a high chance of being stuck in the SNP slot at the first round and is then dead for independents. A Harald1 SNP2 vote however shows greatest priority to you but if you're not elected it moves on to the 'big' party without being wasted. The big parties can afford to sweep up the secondary votes to win a second seat but you can't. If you can think of a simple way to explain this concept you should! A.B.
