  1. Read aloud the story “If You give a Mouse a Cookie.”
  2. Pass around different kinds of cookies.
  3. Ask: What is your favorite cookie? What makes the cookie taste better? Would it be better if it tasted sour or salty? What sense did you use tell which one did you like best? Who gave use our five senses? Why did God give use our senses?
  4. Make a cookie graph.
  5. Compare the answers.

  1. The teacher will talk about gingerbread cookies.
  2. Read aloud “The Gingerbread Boy.”
  3. Have the children answer:  How do you think the Gingerbread Boy smells like? Why did the people wanted to eat the Gingerbread Boy? What happened to the Gingerbread Boy when he fell in the water?
  4. The teacher will demonstrate what happens when you put a gingerbread cookie in water. (It breaks apart)
  5. Give each child a gingerbread cookie.
  6. Have each child decorate the cookie.
  7. Have the children eat the cookie and describe how it taste.

  2. Where in the story show you that the Gingerbread Boy smelled good?
