St. Leander CYO Registration is now open for Track & Field and Girls Basketball

Track & Field is open to both boys and girls in Kindergarten - 8th Grade. Practices will be held at San Leandro High School every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00pm. Meets will begin in mid-March and run weekends (except for Easter weekend) leading to the Diocesan Track and Field Championship Meet in May. Events will include sprints, distance races, relays, long jump, shotput, softball throw, high jump and tetherball toss.
The fee for track & field is $80. There is an additional fee of $70 if a uniform is needed
There is a family volunteer requirement for Track and Field. Each family is required to work the softball throw for the duration of one entire meet. Opting out of the requirement, or not showing up for your shift is a $100 fee.

The girls basketball season for 2nd - 8th grades goes from February thru May with a break Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday. Teams will practice two days per week (Mondays through Thursdays), and games are played Saturday and Sundays. Regular season play starts mid-February and ends early May, comprising 10 league games. 4th-8th grade teams can make the playoffs if they are seeded in the top 4, based on their win/loss record in league play. Playoffs can run through May.
In order to participate in girl’s basketball, the player must: a) be a student of St Leander School, b) live within parish boundaries, or c) currently attend CCD at St Leander’s Church. If your player does not meet one of these requirements, please contact the Athletic Director.
The fee for girls basketball is $170.
