1. The Sixth Annual Friends of Schroeder Campaign is beginning with a goal of $30,000!  And we have raised over 7,600 dollars so far.  It’s easy to Donate Now! follow the link to the front page of our site - it’s the green button

2. The Schroeder A+ Meet:  We need WSAC parents to sign up to help feed over 150 coaches and officials in the hospitality suite. With over 70 teams, A+ is our largest meet and requires a significant number of donations - please consider signing up.

Please note that we have tried to be as specific as possible to help you as well as allow us to reuse and resell your donations in concessions if we end up with excess. This meet is the hardest for us to figure out quantities.

Also both night we are doing an appetizer bar - we have listed suggested appetizers for each night. But if you have a favorite hot or cold appetizer you would like to bring, please feel free to email me separately.

8. The Big Cheese Meet was on Saturday evening.  Schroeder won the meet and enjoyed fresh cheese curds thanks to our sponsor Clock Shadow Creamery  When you are shopping look for / ask for their curds and fresh quark.

9. Speedo has been selected to be the team’s new apparel and equipment provider through 2017.  After a long and beneficial partnership with TYR that began over a decade ago, Schroeder will return to the Speedo brand which is the world leader in competitive aquatics.  New warm ups, back packs and suits can be ordered at Elsmore for the winter season in team colors red, white and blue.

10. Don’t forget to make room reservations for Spring WI Swimming Championship meets in Kenosha and Madison and for the summer Sectional Meet in Iowa City.  Go to the MEET on the website for info.

11. Eligible swimmers please hit Attend / Decline National YMCA meet so we can plan vans and rooms and get an idea of how many athletes are going.  Coaches will be buying tickets soon.

1. This Week’s Practices:

• Please make sure you’re checking the schedule on a daily basis.
• If practice is cancelled due to weather, the schedule will be updated immediately, and an email will be sent to each family.

2. Schroeder South Winter Session:

• The Winter Session practice schedule is now posted online.
• All groups will begin the Winter Session on Saturday, January 4th, 2014.
• You should have received an email with specific details regarding the Winter Session (group lists, etc.)
• It’s been a great first session, and we look forward to all swimmers returning.

3. SSTY South Office Hours

        Coaches Ann and Bob can usually be reached by phone Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 8:30-11:30 AM.  You can call us at the SSTY South office (414-897-8932).  The best form of communication is to email us at:

Emails will generally be responded to within 24 hours

4. Label All of Your Swimmer’s Equipment:

• Please put your swimmer’s name on all suits (on the tag), fins, and especially the conference team cap your child will get at their first Red, White or Blue Meet.  Swimmers will only receive 1 cap.

5. Practice and Meet Reminders For Parents:

• For parents who choose to stay and watch practice, you must remain in the pool stands and off the deck during swim practice.  The exception is Deer Creek Pool because there are no stands.
• Parents are not to interact with their swimmer in any way during swim practice, unless it’s an emergency.
• Coaches are available to answer questions before or after practice.  We want to be able to give our full attention to the athletes in the pool during their practice.
• Parents must remain in the pool stands at all swimming meets unless they are working a volunteer job on the pool deck.  This is a U.S. Swimming and WI Swimming rule.

6. Signing Up For Meets On Your Swimmer’s Meet Schedule:

• Parents are reminded ALL SWIMMERS MUST COMMIT OR DECLINE by the entry deadline for each meet and ALL SWIMMERS are expected to participate in all meets listed for their group on the meet schedule.

• To enter a meet, click on the swim team home page, and scroll down to the list of meets.  Click on “Attend/Decline” for the meet (enter password if necessary).
• Then click on Undeclared Athletes, scroll to your swimmer’s name, click on the name, commit (put yes) in the declaration box, and click on the save changes box.
• Once the swimmer is committed, you may choose the swimmer’s events or have the coach choose the events (recommended).
• If your swimmer cannot attend, follow the previous steps and put no in the declaration box.  Please use the message box to explain why the swimmer is not participating, and then click on the save changes box.

7. Other Important Meet Info:

• Parents, please remember Coach Bob automatically commits and enters all Senior 1 and Junior 1 swimmers to the meets on their schedule.  Swimmers in all other groups are expected to participate in ALL of the meets on their group’s schedule and must commit by the meet entry deadline.  Swimmers who decline a meet are expected to communicate the reason why in the message box.  If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask.

8. Team Equipment Info:

        Just a reminder, we would like all swimmers to wear a solid black suit  when they compete in meets.  They can wear any suit they choose in practice.

      Coach Bob will have Schroeder swim caps and fins at practice.  If you need to buy one, check with Bob before or after practice.
