J.R. Bailey, Esq.,

The Secretary,

Burlington Fine Arts Club,

17, Savile Row, W.1.

7th January, 1929.

Dear Sir,

Mr. de Laszlo, in reply to your invitation to exhibit at your forthcoming exhibition of Marine Art at the Burlington Fine Arts Club,[1] wishes me to let you know that he possesses a Dutch Silver Boat about a foot long, with various movable figures on it. It was made in the time of De Ruyter[2] and in honour of him, and it is also a vessel for holding liquid. It is certainly quite an historic piece and was a present to Mr. de Laszlo from Admiral, Sir Roger Keyes.[3]

Mr. de Laszlo would have great pleasure in sending this, if you will kindly let me hear whether you would like to have it for your exhibition.

Mr. de Laszlo has already left for Egypt, otherwise he would have had pleasure in writing to you himself.

Yours faithfully,

Secretary.

P.S. May I ask you, at the same time, to kindly let me know when the Casone [sic] panel [113447] will be returned.
