Today is day 2

KERRI ROGER Memorial Field Hockey Game

On Wednesday, September 18, the varsity field hockey game will be dedicated to former coach Kerri Roger. The game starts at 4:30.

There will be a dedication starting at 4:15. There will be a bake sale and a 50/50 raffle.

Class of 2028 students can now register for the Class Officer Elections. Students must fill out the form before the end of the school day on Wednesday 9/18. The elections will run from Friday 9/20 through Wednesday 9/25. LINK TO REGISTRATION FORM

You must pre-register in SCOIR if you would like to attend any of these visits.  Please check in with your teacher prior to attending the meeting.  All visits will be held in the LGI.  Any questions see Mrs. Keating in Room 218, suite 6.  

John Jay Open house will be held on October 17th 6pm - 8pm.

The John Jay Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday September 28th from 7pm-11pm at John Jay outside, weather permitting. It will move indoors if there is a chance of inclement weather. Tickets will be $12 in advance online starting on Tuesday 9/17 through Friday 9/27 at 11:59pm. Tickets will be for sale at the door for $18 cash only to John Jay Students only. To bring a non-John Jay guest from another school, students must submit a COMPLETED Guest Form to their grade level administrator ASAP. Please don't wait until the last minute to hand in the guest forms. Guest Forms are available in the main office. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. For safety and security and accuracy of the check-in list, each John Jay student should purchase their own tickets. When purchasing a ticket for a NON JOHN JAY guest, be sure to type in their last name, first name in the appropriate space. All attendees will need a photo ID to enter.  Guests are reminded that the WCSD Code of Conduct remains in effect at all times. All attendees are subject to search and testing for drugs and alcohol.

Homecoming T-Shirt Sales:

2024 Homecoming t-shirts will be on sale for $10 exact cash only in the gym/cafeteria lobby during all lunch periods from Monday 9/23- Friday 9/27 while supplies last!

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2025 - SENIOR PORTRAITS ARE HAPPENING:    Seniors, make sure you schedule your senior portrait. The dates that are left are: September 9-13, October 9-11, October 28 - November 1, and November 12-19. You will only be able to schedule for the dates of September 9 - 13. Do not miss out AND do not wait until the last minute to take your Senior Portrait, you may not get an appointment. If you don't take a senior portrait, you will not be in the Yearbook and you will not be able to submit a quote.  ALL DATES ARE FINAL. SADD Club:  Are you interested in mental health, traffic safety, and substance abuse prevention? SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) will be having meetings on Wednesday after school. Come and join us to learn more about SADD and all that we do at John Jay! Our first meeting will be Wednesday September 25th in room 103 at 2:30pm!

🥍The Boys Lacrosse Team📣🥍

Is looking to fill a few positions on our team, in a non-playing capacity. We are interested in having 2 students learn and help us keep track of our sports book (statistics) on the sideline, as well as 2 students to help us take photo and video for the games. This position needs to be filled for both JV and Varsity. This would be for our upcoming 2025 Spring season. You would be a part of our team, travel with the team on the bus, and get a team shirt. If you have any relevant experience that would be a plus, but not necessary. Please email Jackie Wollman (Boys Lacrosse Booster President) to inquire about the position. Email: jacjas1@verizon.net.

Athletes of the Week 9/9/24 - 9/15/24

Brooke Cameron, Field Hockey - Brooke scored the only and winning goal in our overtime win against Carmel .  First goal wins in the 7v7 overtime period and the midfielder wasted no time and scored on a powerful sweep shot .  

Olivia Cauthers, Soccer - (Senior) in goal, made 14 saves this week in a tight 2-1 loss to Scarsdale.

Seamus Fulton, Soccer - The senior defender won the Caswell Memorial Game Defensive MVP helping the boys soccer team to beat New Rochelle 2-1.

Cristian Gruber, Cross Country - (10th grade) It is all about improvement.  His second year with the JJXC. His time from the first meet at Bowdoin last year was 38 minutes.  This year, he ran 23 minutes.

Nate Johnson, Football - (Junior) Wide Receiver, had 9 catches for 177 yds and a TD vs Carmel

Peyton Matessino, Cross Country (Senior) - Best placement for a JJXC runner, either team, at Bowdoin's race on Tuesday. 9th place, 24:15.

Anika Panghaal, Tennis - (Sophomore) Anika went 3-0 this week at First Singles, beating strong opponents from Ketcham, Rye, and Scarsdale High Schools, while only giving up 5 total games.

Lily Pugliese, Volleyball - (Senior) led our team to victory in the Hendrick Hudson Tournament and our wins over longtime rival North Rockland and Ossining.

Taka Yamauchi, Volleyball - through the first 3 games of the season Taka has amassed 115 assists including a school record for most assists in a single game with 56 while holding a 94% Serve Percentage.

FUNDRAISING:
