It is a period of civil war.
Rebel spaceships, striking

spies managed to steal secret

ultimate weapon, the DEATH
STAR, an armored space
station with enough power to

Vocabulary

bold (adjective)

brave, or without fear.  Bold can also mean not shy, and almost rude.

        Examples:

He is a qualified politician with bold ideas.

She was friendly without being bold.

direction (noun)

(POSITION)

the position toward which someone or something moves or faces

        Examples:

Cars were facing every direction after slamming into each other on the icy road.

I glanced in her direction (= toward her).

You’re headed in the direction of (= toward) Toronto.

doomed (adjective)

certain to fail, die, or be destroyed

        Examples:

This is a doomed city.

escape (noun)

(GET FREE)

the act of successfully getting out of a place or a dangerous or bad situation

        Examples:

He made his escape on the back of a motorcycle.

an escape route

They had a narrow escape when their car crashed.

have had enough (phrase)

to want something to stop because it is annoying you

Example:

I've had enough – I'm going home.

inform (verb)

to tell someone about particular facts

Examples:

The name of the dead man will not be released until his relatives have been informed.

Why wasn't I informed about this earlier?

Walters was not properly informed of the reasons for her arrest.

rebel (noun)

a person who refuses to accept the government’s power and uses force to oppose it

Example:

The government tried to set up talks with the rebels.


shut down (verb)

If a business or a large piece of equipment shuts down or someone shuts it down, it stops operating.

        Examples:

        The company plans to shut down four factories and cut 10,000 jobs.

        The crew shut down the right-hand engine of the aircraft.

stun (verb)

(MAKE UNCONSCIOUS)

to make a person or animal unconscious

Examples:

This injection stuns the rhinoceros, so we can examine it.

suffer (verb)

(FEEL PAIN)

to experience physical or mental pain

        Examples:

I think he suffered quite a lot when his wife left him.

She suffers terribly in the winter when it's cold and her joints get stiff.

She's been suffering from cancer for two years.

Johnny suffers from asthma.

If you're not happy with it, you should complain. Don't just suffer in silence
