Dear Parents and Families,

I am pleased to announce that the new Principal for TGMS is Mr. Nathan Ramage. Nathan lives in Pilot Mound with his wife Aimee and their three children. He has taught in the Division for 7 years, most recently at Prairie Mountain Elementary. He has also taken on term positions as Principal, so he is familiar with the role. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Ramage to TGMS.

With this staffing change, we have made some slight adjustments to the teaching assignments. Effective October 5, Mr. Ramage will be teaching the Grade 7 and 8 Physical Education classes, and Mr. Clint Maxwell will take on the Grade 8 Language Arts. We will be issuing new timetables to the Grade 7s and 8s to reflect these changes.

Also, I would like to ask parents to consider taking part in a Parent Voice Evening taking place this Monday October 5 6:30 to 8:30 at the PSSD Division Office in Swan Lake. The Board would like each school principal to attend along with two parents. More information can be found on the reverse of this letter.

If you are able to help out by attending this session with Mr. Ramage, please contact me  by phone or by email.

Thanks again for all of your support!

Terri Hill, Principal

Parent Voice Evening

October 5, 2015 6:30-8:00 pm

On the evening of October 5, we would like to invite representatives from each of our community schools to participate in a conversation with the Board of Trustees.

During the 2014/2015 school year, we held a similar meeting with student representatives from all of our high schools and then a second evening with all of our colony schools. The goal in each case was to have a discussion with our stakeholders about specific topics that are current in our school division.

With the parents and principals of our community schools, we have four specific topics that we are studying and researching. These are,

After a brief introduction with the entire group participating, we will divide up into smaller groups hosted by our trustees. Groups will have 10 minutes with each pair of trustees to share ideas about one of the four topics. Every ten minutes, groups will move on to the next pair of trustees and the next topic area. We will break for a few moments and then have the opportunity to circulate through the results from all of the groups and mark those ideas that you feel should be an area of focus in the year(s) ahead.
