Congratulations to Chadron FCCLA members for their accomplishments at Districts yesterday! Kenzie received gold in Career Investigation Level 3. Morgan received gold in Repurpose and Redesign Level 3. Emi received Silver in Fashion Design Level 2. Chelsea received Gold in Career Investigation Level 2. All qualified for state. Morgan was elected the 2023-2024 district 12 Vice president and Kenzie was elected the 2023-2024 district 12 president.

Pack extra supplies in your vehicles and wear layers of extra clothing and cover bare skin if you are out. Be safe and stay warm!

The third goal of FBLA is to Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise. American Enterprise Day is observed on November 15 each year. On this day, U.S. residents recognize free enterprise and how it has contributed to the economy. Jimmy Carter made a Presidential Proclamation on August 8, 1980, directing that American Enterprise Day be observed. Chevron Corporation provided a grant to fund a program called “Getting Involved” in the 1980s to expose young people to capitalism through Future Business Leaders of America. This is still celebrated today by FBLA. Come to the office and take a guess at the money in the jar! The closest guess without going over will receive a prize at the end of the day!
Are you not interested in Dodgeball on Friday but would still like to hang out with friends? FBLA will host a movie night with popcorn for any student. We will meet in the commons and watch Top Gun - Maverick. Bring a pillow or blanket and join us.

Tomorrow, the middle school will host their annual Veterans Day Program in the Auditorium at 10:00. HS students are only allowed to attend with parent permission. Otherwise, we need to leave seats available for the public.
Tomorrow, we will set cones out on Cedar Street to reserve parking spots for the public who will be attending the Veteran’s Day Program. The parking will be available again for our students and staff after lunch.

Chadron HS will be giving the PSAT (practice SAT test) next Wednesday, October 12th in the HS library. Any Sophomore or Junior who would like to take the PSAT test is welcome! We have 20 spots available so first come first serve. The test is $18 and payment needs to be made to Mrs. Berry in the HS office before testing. This test qualifies students for the National Merit and other prestigious scholarships but is not an official SAT test and does not report to colleges. There is a signup sheet on the “I the know wall” official notifications bulletin board outside of Mr. Uhings Room. You will not be officially signed up until the $18 payment is made to the HS office.

If you have a permission slip to attend the CSC College Fair you will be dismissed at 1:45 via the loud speaker. You need to take attendance and check in with 4th block teacher for any missing assignments. Please do not drive to the college fair unless you have a valid CSC parking permit as tickets will be given.

If you are taking Personal Finance, AP US History, or College Algebra for college credit you have until tonight at midnight to fill out the forms sent to your email. Rosters are posted on the windows of the school counseling office if you are enrolled for college credit your name will be on the roster. Payment is made directly to CSC you can pay at Crites Hall.
We are hosting our last chromebook program today at 5:00p in the HS Auditorium. You must attend a program to be able to receive a chromebook.
