Elma discovers our character/Cross(the protagonist) in their pod, explains what happened to the Earth, and gives us a tour of NLA:

Elma: Good, there was still a survivor. Are you alright? Take it easy, you only just woke up. Your pod was the only one that fell in this area. It’s a good thing we were[/I was] able to find you. My name is Elma.(良かった。まだ生き残りがいたのね。大丈夫？あまり無理しない方がいいわ。たった今、 目覚めたばかりなんだから。この辺りに落ちていたのは、あなたのポッドだけ。見つけられて良かったわ。私はエルマ。)
Back then, a battle between two alien races broke out, and the Earth was destroyed in the crossfire. We escaped aboard the Moby Dick, and wandered for two whole years. Each day was a struggle. But we were determined to find an inhabitable planet, and make it our new home. However, our journey was cut short.(地球はあの日、異星人同士の大規模な戦闘に巻き込まれて、消滅してしまった。白鯨で地球を脱出した私たちの旅は、２年程続いた。過酷な日々だったわ。それでも、居住可能な星を見つけ、そこに移り住む、私たちの意志は堅かった。しかし、旅は突然、終わりを告げた。)
The ship’s damaged hull couldn’t withstand planetfall, and we had to use our reserve energy just to land the Residential Sector safely. This, is planet Mira. We’ve barely managed to scrape by for two months here, and there’s still a lot we don’t understand about the planet. That’s where we’re living now. Well? Not bad, huh? This is the Moby Dick’s Residential Sector. Well, these days, it’s our hometown. We named it for the city it was modeled after. New Los Angeles. Welcome, to NLA.(そして、あれが私たちの住んでいる居住ユニット。どう？なかなかのものでしょ？これが白鯨の居住ユニット。いいえ。今ではここが私たちの街。モデルになった都市から採って、こう呼んでいるわ。『ニューロスアンゼルス』と。ようこそＮＬＡへ。)
We’ve adapted to life on Mira fairly well in the two months we’ve been here, but you’ve been asleep in a pod that whole time. Let me show you around, so you’re not overwhelmed. First up, I’ll tell you all about NLA.(たった二ヶ月だけど、ポッドで眠っていたあなたより、この惑星ミラでの生活は、私たちの方が経験豊富よ。色々と教えてあげられるわ。じゃあまず、このＮＬＡの事を話しましょう。
I want you to know, we think of this place as our home now. It’s not just some camp we set up after being stranded here. Don’t forget that.(知っておいて欲しいのは、私たちがここを遭難先の仮の宿なんかじゃなく、地球人類の安住の地だと思っているという事。忘れないで。)
This is the Industrial Area. It’s in the western section of the city, near the gate, so I guess you could say it’s NLA’s entryway. Everything from food to weapons are produced here. There’s also a facility for the research and development of Dolls, which play a fundamental part in NLA’s restoration.(ここは工業エリア。街の西側へ出る出入口がある、いわゆるＮＬＡの玄関といったところかしら。私たちの食料はもちろん、武器に至るまで、あらゆる物資が生産されているわ。そしてこのＮＬＡの復興には欠かせない、ドールの開発施設もあるわ。)
Over here is the Business Area. It’s the only downtown area in NLA, with restaurants, convenience stores and clothing shops. Lots of different people tend to come here because of that. Even I like to come here to shop on my days off.(ここは商業エリア。レストラン、雑貨屋、アパレルショップ、ＮＬＡで唯一の繁華街ね。それだけに、色んな人が集まっている。私も休日には、ショッピングを楽しんでいるわ。)
Next is the Residential Area. This is where all of the houses are. We also have a wide variety of accommodations available to the residents, like a huge park, a church, and a water filtration plant. It’s nice to have such a comfortable place to return to on this strange new planet.(次は住宅エリア。ＮＬＡで暮らす人達の住居がここ。住民達が、この未知な惑星で、少しでも安心して暮らせるように、大きな公園や、教会、浄水場もあるわ。癒しの場所として訪れると良いかもしれないわね。)
The restoration has made this much progress in the two months since the crash thanks to everyone’s perseverance, as well as the help of the Dolls.(不時着から二ヶ月余りで、ここまで復興させる事ができたのは、人類の生き残りたいという想いと、ドールの力があったからよ。)
Finally, there’s the BLADE Area. You could call it the heart of NLA. Here you’ll find NLA’s Provisional Autonomous Government, BLADE HQ, the BLADE Home residences, a district where you can buy various equipment and heavy weapons from shops, and even an area dedicated to Doll maintenance and repair. Ah, sorry, I just started going on about BLADE suddenly, but you probably have no idea what I’m talking about.(そして最後にブレイドエリア。ＮＬＡの心臓部と言えるわね。ＮＬＡの暫定自治政府、私たちブレイドの本部、住居のブレイドホーム、様々な装備や武器を買う事の出来るショップ街、それにドールの整備や修理行うスペースもあるわ。ごめんなさい。ブレイドとかいきなり言われても、何の事かわからないわよね。)

Elma: BLADE stands for “Beyond the Logos Artificial Destiny Emancipator.” The first letter of each of those words spells out “BLADE.” We do everything from maintaining food supplies to keeping the peace in NLA, as well as keeping the city itself safe. With our so-called investigators, police and combat squads, it’s a very well-rounded organization.(ブレイドとは神の言葉を超えた人工的な運命の解放者。その頭の文字をとってブレイド。 水や食料の確保から、ＮＬＡの治安維持、防衛までこなす、いわば調査員であり、警察であり、戦闘部隊でもある、統合組織ね。)
Looks like you might get your own room in the BLADE area, in residences called BLADE Homes?
While Elma is giving the quick rundown of the things they do, we see some screens of a few Unions: ARMS, with two women in front of a Doll; COLEPEDIAN, with a woman in front of some giant coral things; AVALANCHE, with the sideburnsguy, a bald guy, and some helmeted woman in front of some Dolls; INTERCEPTOR, Guin and Irina posing for the next Resident Evil.
A facility for holding the escaping humans in stasis that was housed aboard the Moby Dick, but broke off and splintered into pieces during the crash landing. In Elma’s words:
Elma: Above all else, our main goals as [part of] BLADE are searching for Life Points, and the investigation of planet Mira.(中でも、私たちブレイドにとって、最も重要な任務がライフポイントの探索と惑星ミラの調査。)
Our ship, the Moby Dick, initially housed an enormous amount of people that had been placed into sleep stasis within a facility called Life. After escaping the Earth, the only people awake on the ship were the crew, combat personnel, and those in charge of maintaining Life. Incidentally, you’re the last person to have been rescued from it.(元々、私たちの宇宙船『白鯨』には、『ライフ』という施設で、もっと多くの人が眠ったまま運ばれていたのよ。地球脱出以降、船内で目覚めていたのは操船クルーと戦闘要員、ライフを管理運営するスタッフだけだったというわけ。ちなみに、あなたがその中で救出された、最後の一人よ。)
But during the crash landing, Life, along with the many people sleeping inside it, separated from the hull of the ship. It broke up into multiple blocks, which scattered all over. So now we have to find these Life Points, the places where the pieces crashed, and save the people inside. You can see how important this task of ours is.(でもこのミラに墜落した際、たくさんの命と共に、ライフも船体から分離。複数のブロックに分かれ、散らばってしまった。だから私たちはライフのある場所、ライフポイントを見つけて、その人々を助け出さなければならない。この任務の重要さは解るわね？)

Elma: And now our second most important task: the investigation of planet Mira. There’s still a lot we don’t know about it, after all. An investigation is crucial to searching out the Life Points, and making this planet a safe place for us to live. That’s why we built the “Frontier Net,” to collect the necessary data[on the planet]. I’ll leave the explanation of the Frontier Net up to this young lady.(そして二つ目の重要任務、この惑星ミラの調査よ。私たちはまだこの星のことを充分に理解できているとは言えない。ライフポイントを探し出すためにも、この星を私たちの安住の地とするためにも、調査は欠かせないわ。そこで私たちは『フロンティアネット』を構築 して情報を集めているの。『フロンティアネット』については彼女に説明してもらうわ。)
Lyn: My name is Lyn! I’m like, totally confident in my abilities as a mechanic and cook!(私の名前はリン！メカと料理には自信があります！)
Elma: She might seem a bit strange, but she’s a hand-picked staff member. I’ll vouch for her capabilities.(こう見えても彼女は選ばれたスタッフよ。腕は保障するわ。)
Lyn: Then let’s jump right into the explanation. First, check out your Device. Oh! That’s right, you guys call it a “Gamepad.” It’s showing where we are, see? The map is covered in hexagons that we call “Segments.” I think Ms. Elma already told you, but we use a system called the “Frontier Net” when we’re gathering information on the planet.(じゃあ、早速説明しますね。まずは『デバイス』を見てください。おっと！あなたは『ゲー ムパッド』って呼んでるんでしたっけ。自分達のいる場所が、分りますよね？このマップ上 の六角形の一つ一つを私たちは『セグメント』と呼んでいます。エルマさんから聞いたと思いますけど、私たちは『フロンティアネット』というシステムを使って、この惑星ミラ の情報を集めているんです。)
Can you see that beam of light over there? That’s where the Net calculated it would be best to gather data from, a “Frontier Net Spot.” Then we use these “Data Probe” devices to actually gather up the information from those spots. Let’s set one up~(あの光のオブジェクトが見えますか？これはシステムがあらかじめ割り出した最も効率良く情報収集が出来る位置、『フロンティアネットスポット』 です。この位置で実際に情報を収集するのが『データプローブ』という装置です。データ プローブ設置しますね。)

Lyn: The panels around the probe have changed. That means we’ve gotten the information on the areas near it.(データプローブ周辺の表示が変わりました。つまり、データプローブを設置した周辺の情報 が手に入ったという事です。)
Elma: See these icons everywhere when you’re in Segment Mode? They’re convenient reminders for missions you can do in the area. For example, this mark means the segment has some monsters you can get rid of. This mark indicates there’s treasure somewhere in the segment. You can go hunt it down if you want.(『セグメントマップ』の中に、マークがあるのがわかるかしら？これはこの地域で行う任務 が簡易的に表されているのよ。 例えばこのマークはそのセグメント内に生息する原生生物の討伐。このマークはトレジャー。宝探しという具合ね。)
Lyn: In other words, the more Data Probes you install at FN Spots, the more data on the surroundings you get, so you’ll know exactly where to find everything with it!(つまり、各地にあるフロンティアネットスポットにデータプローブを設置すればする程、その周辺の情報が増え、探索先の目的が明らかになっていくというわけです！)
Elma: Setting up these data probes is one of our most important duties, if we want to survive on this planet.(データプローブの設置、私たちがこの星で生き抜くためには重要な任務の１つよ。)
Lyn: Do your best to fill everything in 100%!(調査率、１００パーセント目指して、頑張りましょう！)

Elma: Since information from the probes is shared with NLA, its inhabitants’ conversations change each time you set one up. Don't miss any of it.(データプローブの情報は、フロンティアネットを使ってNLAで共有されているから、設置する度にNLA内の人々の会話にも変化が起きていくわ。見逃さないで。)
Here’s the NPC dialogue during this bit(they’re three different women, not the same person):
Female NLA Resident(ＮＬＡ住民女性): “They sey they’ve found this huge woodland called the Twilluminous Forest to the northwest, past Biarno Steppes. You should join BLADE and go check it out for me!(北西のビアーノ草原を超えた所に、夜光の森って大森林が見つかったんですって。あんたもブレイドになって調査に行きなさいよ！)”
Female NLA Resident: “How could the Moby Dick crash… We’ve had to change our entire Global Mass Evacuation Plan. It’s all so worrying.(まさか白鯨が墜ちるなんて・・・・・地球種汎移民計画は修正を余儀なくされてしまうわね。とても気がかりだわ。)”
Female NLA Resident: “You see those pictures of the Land of White Ash sent back by the Research Data Probe? The investigation’s gonna be delayed with all that thick fog everywhere.(それってリサーチデータプローブから送られて来た、白樹の大陸の映像？こんなに濃い霧が立ち込めてちゃ、調査は手間取りそうねぇ)”
Male BLADE Soldier(ブレイド男性): “There are some supplies over by the 314th District FN Spot over in the Valley of Oblivion. They’ll come in handy if something happens.(忘却の渓谷にある第３１４区フロンティアネットスポットの近くに物資を置いてきたんだ。何かあった時は使ってくれよ)”
The BLADE soldier’s message was yellow, and a message saying “Valley of Oblivion Segment has been updated(忘却の渓谷のセグメントが更新されました)” popped up as the player walked towards him, along with an “Infoget: Treasure Intel(インフォ入手：トレジャー情報)” notification. Yellow NPC tidbits seem to have helpful hints for exploration.

Elma: The Probes don’t just gather data on the surroundings after you set them up, you’re also able to modify them to give them a variety of special functions. For example, if you change one to a Mining Probe, you increase the amount of resources it collects. There are a lot of different kinds of modifications., and you can even modify them to give you buffs when you’re fighting.(あと、データプローブは周辺の情報を収集してくれるだけでなく、様々な機能に変更する事 も可能よ。例えば、採掘プローブに変更すれば、資源の採掘量が増えたり。他にも戦闘の時にステータスを強化してくれるものなど様々な物があるわ。)
Lyn: Since effects differ between Spots, you have to think about how and where you’ll deploy each kind of probe~(設置する場所によって、効果が違うから、どこにどのデータプローブを配置するか考えちゃ いますね～。)
The map screen switches from Segment to Frontiernet Mode during Elma’s explanation, which looks like it visualizes the Frontier Net probe network on the screen for you. The quantities “Total Mining Output(総採掘量)” and “Total Income(総収益)” are located at the bottom.
The following menu appears upon selecting a probe, with “Mining G1(採掘),” “Research G1(リサーチ),” “Reinforcement[buff] G1(強化),” “Storage(貯蔵),” and “Melee Power Up(格闘力アップ)” type probes selectable on the list(the menu seems to have at least one more entry, which I’d guess is for Ranged Power Up). “Selected Data Probe(設置Ｄプローブ選択)” is highlighted above the list.
After selecting the Mining Probe G1 option, this menu displays. “Modified Data Probe(Ｄプローブ変更)” is now highlighted at the top, and the effects of the probe modification are displayed. “Yield Efficiency(産出性能)” rises by 50 to 100%, “Income Efficiency(収益性能)” lowers by 20 to 30%, and “Combat Support Efficiency(戦闘支援性能)” remains inactive. The description for the modification reads: “Mines for the all-purpose resource Miranium, as well as rare resources. Total Mined Amount depends on both the FN Spot’s Yield Amount and the Mining Probe[probe level, I’m assuming].(汎用資源ミラニウムおよびレアリソースを採掘します。採掘量はＦＮスポットの産出量と採掘プローブの両方の要因で決まります).” The “Deployment Cost(配置コスト)” is 1000, out of the player’s 588605[wtf] “Current Funds(所持金).” “Confirm Change(変更決定)” and “Cancel(キャンセル)” buttons are at the bottom. Below those, Total Mined rises by 250, while Total Income drops by 40.
After selecting the Melee Power Up Probe, this screen is displayed, much like the Mining Probe’s. Yield and Income Efficiency both drop by 40 to 10%, while Combat Support Ability rises all the way to 100%. The description reads “Produces a buff effective across the entire Zone. Melee Power increases in battle.(ゾーン内全域で有効な強化効果が発生します。戦闘時の格闘力がアップします).” This modification costs 7000 moneys, and lowers both Total Mined and Total Income by 100 and 120 respectively.

Elma: Outside of looking for Life Points and exploring Mira, BLADE also handles various requests from NLA residents in the form of “Quests.”(ブレイドはライフポイントの探索、惑星ミラの調査の他にも、ＮＬＡの住人達から『クエス ト』という形で様々な仕事を依頼されるわ。)
We also take on direct requests from the BLADE Home and BLADE HQ, important missions that could decide our future. A lot of requests are put up on the Quest Board too, so try to keep an eye on it. Quests range from collection to reconnaissance, to rescue missions and monster exterminations, and anything in between. Cross, Elma, and what looks like Lou are seen talking to Van Damme, Nagi and Maurice in front of some screen with a mech? here, as well as the connection between PW and NF. The scene then shifts to Nagi, and we can make out part of the upper right screen, something about “_AUS’S MOVEMENT ARMS.” It looks like there are only two letters before that, GU maybe? I don’t know what a GUAUS would be though, other than a very bad English attempt at GROWTH. Nagi’s line says “We must find that place immediately(一刻も早く あれの場所を見つけなくてはならん),” so whatever(or whoever) happened there must be important.

After finishing the Ceredoño quest, “Segment Topic has been resolved(セグメントトピックが解決されました)” shows up at the top of the screen. This is similar to the BLADE soldier’s treasure hint, and is probably related to the progression of Segment tiles from mission icons to gold shields/completed/whoknows.

As seen frequently in the previous trailers, the Janbas Lake(ジャンバス湖) landmark. You can see the large shoulder formation that stands over it.
The area Cliffside Beach(岸壁の浜), seen in press screenshots from the X-ploration trailer, the beach directly east of NLA.

Dry area with giant mechanical objects embedded in the terrain.
The area La Mancha(ラ・マンチャ), which seems to be the passage connecting this area to the PW. Wikipedia says the name most likely originates from an Arabic word for ‘dry land,’ so I guess it’s fitting.
The uh...Blue Hole(ブルーホール) superb view, which was seen briefly in the X-ploration trailer. Might actually be “Blue Hall,” considering it’s sort of wide and open.

They’re fleeing from a Brutal Pekker(ブルータル・ペッカー), which uses the (neutral/physical element?) attack, Rock Missile(ロックミサイル).
The Overed
Look like regular enemies, but they’re stronger and have special names, just like in the first game.
Tatsu: Keep eye out for Overed too! They look same as regular monster, and hang out together, but waaay stronger! Also have name that make you think “these guys something special.”(あと、気をつけなければいけないのが『オーバード』ですも！見た目は普通の原生生物と同 じでも、並外れた能力を持っているのが時々しれっと混ざっていますも。こいつらにはいかにも特別って感じの名前がついていますも。
