The /bant/ dialect ( BANTESE ) is an idea we had with several anons. The goal is to create a real autonomy in this board, and amplify its singularity. You can share this gdoc with other r/banters

If you are not happy with something, feel free to complain in the dialect threads and explain why you dislike it

For now, bantese is a written language, which means the pronunciation isn’t important. We might introduce pronunciation rules later when the language itself is really advanced.

Grammar

  • The VERB is always placed at the end of a sentence, or just before a comma / an “and”. For the other words, use the same order as english to not make it too confusing.
  • If there is two verbs in the same sentence (“You think anime is redpilled”), put the verb that links the subject with the rest at the very end (“O niba repillo etin toht”)

  • For the PLURAL, we will use the prefix “mo-”

  • For the NEGATION, we will use the suffix “-no” (if the verb/adjective finishes with a n, just put one, ex: “don’t be” = “etino”)

  • For the POSSESSIVE, we will use the prefix “mi-” before the (pro)noun. (“mine” = “miwata”)

  • To AMPLIFY an adjective’s meaning, use the prefix “to-” on it. It has the same meaning as “very something” or “so something”
  • To FUCKING AMPLIFY an adjective’s meaning, use the prefix “pro-”. It means “fucking something”

  • For the QUESTIONS, keep the exact same sentence but with a ? at the end
  • If you want to use QUESTION WORDS (“Who”, “Where”,...), put them at the very beginning, and then use the normal order.

Conjugation

  • For the PAST, we will use the word kamu, always before the verb. Write kamukamu if it’s in the past’s past.
  • For the FUTURE, we will use the word folo. Same rules as the past.

  • the -ing form of a verb (dunno the word for it sorry) is by adding a “-r” at the end of the verb for the ones ending with a vowel, and an “-ar” for the ones ending with a consonant. In this case, don’t put it at the end of the sentence but where you would have used it as a normal word.

Random Rules

  • there is no gender in this language. For the words it’s not necessary, and for the human/animals just put the gender adjectives after it.
  • Always put adjectives AFTER the word.
