My dear László

We must have a serious conversation about the Emperor of Annam with his sumptuous costume; he is one of the last crowned heads we still have, and a model worthy of you.[1]

Something else:

You started the portrait of Mrs Dyke [sic], the founder of the Blérancourt Museum (Franco-American friendship and remembrance).[2] Mr Girodis, the curator of this museum, would be honoured and grateful should you consent to present his museum with one of your pencil drawings, sketches or studies in preparation for this portrait left unfinished because of its subject’s death. I would be personally happy if you could grant this to Mr Girodis, and thank you in anticipation.

There is no need for me to tell you how happy you would make us if you could come for tea with us. Enclosed a little memorandum on this subject.

See you soon my dear László and believe me your sincerely

LB

Your exhibition is very beautiful and does you great justice[3]
