Call 911 for immediate assistance locally.
Call or text 988: This is a national hotline that will be used much like 911. First Call for Help will answer and connect you to a crisis provider in your area, which in Lake and St. Louis counties is through HDC. They have a crisis team that will answer and talk 24/7. They are there just to talk or to come and meet you for a crisis assessment if it’s needed.

Children's Mental Health Services through Lake County:
If your child qualifies they can become eligible for:
- Child mental health case management- Case Management is a service to help
the child and family obtain needed Mental Health Services, Social Services,
Educational Services, Health Services, Vocational Services, Recreation
Services, Legal Services, Advocacy, Transportation, etc. We will help you to
plan, problem-solve, make referrals, and follow-up to see that services are
appropriate and effective, so that the child may be healthy and well-adjusted.
- Family Community Support Services- These services are intended to help the
child to function and remain in the family and in the community, whenever
possible and appropriate.
Children's Mental Health Services through St. Louis County:
- Children’s Mental Health case management is a voluntary service provided at the request of a family whose primary concern is the unmet mental health needs of their child. A CMH case manager assists the family in obtaining appropriate community resources and services for their child and works with other providers to coordinate the care for the child. CMH case management involves regular contact with the child and family and continual assessment of service needs to assist the family and the child in becoming as self-sufficient as possible.

--Inpatient/Outpatient Facilities--

Northwood Children's Services-Duluth:
- Provides professional care, education, and treatment for boys and girls with emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities. Merritt Creek Academy and Chester Creek Academy provide educational programs for the students. The educational staff is provided by the Duluth School District and individualized comprehensive curriculums are developed that are integrated, experiential and innovative. Both sites provide safe and encouraging environments where parents, teachers, staff, and students unite in a celebration of learning and discovery.
