What’s going on party people? I hope you're doing well and this review finds you in good spirits. We must celebrate our victories. I’m celebrating mine with this review, so without further ado, let’s get into yet another YungBart tape!
As many know, I have covered YungBart’s music and personal accolades for quite some time. I’ve also developed a personal relationship with this young and talented brother. I honestly think he has so much potential to tap into other arenas based on his unique approach to music production but his focus is on making trap beats and with this new project release, he does just that.
I believe that Lit Life 2 is fairly different from his initial tape under the same moniker. The sequel is obviously far better in my opinion even though some songs do not sound like they’re mixed too well or seem completely experimental, Lit Life 2 defeats his first tape by a landslide victory! You can hear his growth and intention with every track.
This new album has 21 tracks with an approx. run time of 53 minutes and as many times as I’ve listened to it, I believe that he is also trying to transition into film because some songs have a cinematic presentation and transition, so when listening to this album, you must take into account that he’s also a working actor and content creator. And with this review, I was also asked how many favorite tracks do I have? Well… to be honest, I’ve had this album for several weeks and hadn’t listened to it as I would like in order to have “favorites” but I will say that I am truly impressed with what he’s done this time around.
Though I think song sequencing could have been better and transitions into the next song aren't as clear and clean as his earlier work, I still think that this is one of his best projects. So to go back and listen to the tape again, I do have favorites. Just a few though.
These five songs are definite listens in my opinion: Executive, Clockwork [I could see DaBaby or 21 Savage on a track like that], Recipe, Bartman and lastly, Surfer [sounds really dark and ominous like some boogeyman song, Gucci definitely would go crazy on that, I just know it]. And I think many will enjoy this album just as much as I did but some of you will enjoy it for different reasons.
I casually throw on a YungBart beat depending on what I’m doing. For example, I am listening to Recipe while I write this review but sometimes when I’m cooking or working out? I listen to one of my favorite songs off YB’s Hibernation tape which debuted in February of 2024 and that song is called Ghosted.. I don’t know what it is about that damn song but the strings along with the bass line and hi hats seem to go together so well in my mind that I’m inspired every time I listen to it.
Before I get up outta here, there’s one last thing that I wish to say about this project.
It is obviously going to be a new sound for most and it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but what I often do when listening to new music or reading a new author's work? I try to understand his or her intention for creating their art. Regardless of how often I talk to YB, I can tell that his intentions are clear when he creates music. He wants to make something real, he wants to make something that people can enjoy no matter what they’re going through. He is also creating sounds that he wishes to hear and that is one of the most respectable things about his career to me. He sees his vision all the way through to completion! Big shoutout to him, much love and continued blessings to YungBart!
Well that sums up my review this week. Please be sure to check out all of YungBart’s music and his actor reel. Take care!
