Deepest thanks, on behalf of my wife as well, for the cordial reception you gave us and for the good advice concerning the Rákosi portrait [6729]. I managed to see Mr Szarvassy^[1] today, who received me very warmly, and I noted that he will be willing to pay 200 pounds for the painting to be placed in the National Museum.

We are seeing the Lord^[2] this afternoon, so I will be able to mention these matters to him,

as you instructed.

Might I presume to ask for a photograph of your lovely portrait of dear Mama? I hope you will not take it amiss. If possible, could you send it to me here at the hotel, or else to 24 Erzsébet Királyné út in Budapest?

We leave London on Wednesday afternoon.

Méltóságos jó Professzor Uram!

Bensőségesen köszönöm feleségem nevében is a kitüntető fogadtatást s jó tanácsodat a Rákosi képet illetőleg. Sikerült ma találkoznom Szarvassy úrral, aki nagy jóindulattal fogadott és úgy vettem észre hajlandó lesz 200 fontot adni a képért, hogy az a Nemzeti Museumba kerüljön.

A Lorddal délután találkozunk és így lesz alkalmam neki is említést tenni a dolgokról,

ahogy instruálni kegyes voltál.

Talán nem veszed tőlem rossz néven, ha bátorkodom a kedves jó Mama gyönyörű képéről egy fényképet kérni ide a hotelbe, ha lehet, vagy Budapestre Erzsébet királyné út 24 alá.

Londont szerdán délelőtt hagyjuk el.
