Salary is based on a pay scale which sets a wage per hour depending on the employee’s position.

Salary Deductions:

Federal and State withholding taxes and Social Security are deducted from each employee’s paycheck.  Federal withholding deductions are made in accordance with Federal regulations, the number of exemptions claimed and the exemption status for Federal withholding.  The State withholding is based on the dollar amount claimed as an exemption and the exemption status of the employee.

Social Security deductions are made in accordance with Social Security requirements.  The Library contributes the employer’s share.

Employees who are members of the Public Employees Retirement System will have this deduction withheld from their paychecks.  Deductions will be made in accordance with Public Employee Retirement System requirements.  The Library contributes the employer’s share toward retirement.

The Library reserves the right to make adjustments in the schedules or number of hours and employee works when it is necessary for the integrity of the budget.

Gross pay and deductions are recorded upon each month’s Payroll System Employee list.

Payment Schedule

Hourly employees are paid on/by the 10th of each month or on the last banking day immediately preceding the 10th of the month.  Receipt of an accurate, signed, and approved timesheet *and* leave chart is required before hourly payroll processing can be completed for an individual employee.  Photocopies are acceptable for payment; however, subsequent payroll processing is contingent on the delivery of the original or color scanned timesheet and/or leave chart to the Director’s office.

Salaried employees are paid on the last day of each month or on the last banking day immediately preceding the last day of each month.

All employees are paid via direct deposit.  Direct deposit forms are available from the director.  All employees must supply information required for direct deposit or supply a letter from their local bank with an explanation indicating why the bank is unable to provide banking services for the employee.
