Creating a Contact Group in Google

  1. Go to your GCPS Google Drive home page and click on the apps button in the top right corner.  Click on “Contacts”.

  1. Click on “New Group” on the left hand side of the screen.

  1. Enter in a group name and then press the blue “Okay” button.

  1. Under your “My Contacts”, you will now see the new group you created.  In this example, I’ve created a group called “Instructional Technology”.

  1. Click on the icon with the person and the + sign.  Begin typing in the email addresses of those you want in this Google Contact group.  As you begin typing a person’s name, it should auto-populate if he/she is a student or employee of Granville County Public Schools.  Once you are finished typing in the email addresses, click “Add”.

  1. Once you’ve clicked “Add”, you will see their names appear like in the screenshot below.

  1.  You have now created the contact group.  The next time you want to share something in Google Drive with this group of people, begin typing in the name of your Google Contact Group and share it with that group.
