Compare and contrast two essays / losing things
Updated automatically every 5 minutes

What is this lesson all about?

Students will have the opportunity to read two non-fiction essays. One makes  the point that when we find ordinary things that turned into souvenirs, they can add more significance to our lives than the things we purchase. The other makes emphasis on the idea of losing objects. It asks  the question of  why we keep some things and discard others.

Objective:

Students will compare and contrast two opposing points of view, analyze the figurative language that both authors use in their essays, and will finally write  their own essay taking one of the authors points of view.
