Good morning Central

I’m Sally Hand

Today is June 5th and Welcome to the Central Morning news

(Cam1/ Mic1)

On Sunday, Saint Paul celebrated Grand Old Days. This year was particularly special as the parade was a celebration of Central high school. Principal Mackbee was the grand marshal, the Central band marched, and many Central organizations were honored. Central had our own float and Ms. Mackbee rode through the parade in a red convertible.

Tomorrow night in the Black Box, the Student Engagement and Advancement board hosts an open Mic in the black box. Come to hear some spoken word and see performance art from 4 to 6 tuesday evening. There will be food and the event is FREE.

A huge congratulations to Lemlem Geldo and Alex Reeve. Both students were finalist for the Dave Winfield Award. This award is given to one male and one female. There were nearly 30 female students nominated from across Saint Paul. A special congratulations to Alex Reeve who won the award.

Congratulations to Sophie Rabins for being the Section 4AA champion in the 1600 meter run. Sophie will be heading to the Track & Field State Tournament to compete on Friday, June 9. Good luck Sophie!

Another note of congratulations goes to Ayana Hutchinson. Ayana won the section 4 double A tournament and is headed to the state tournament.

Last Friday this year's seniors had their final walkout. CMN reporter Abi was there with more on the story. CMN Daejon will have more on the story tomorrow.

There are a few yearbooks left to be picked-up in the lobby during lunches. There are also a few yearbooks left for sale at $80 cash.

The French Department is desperate for a host family for the French Intern next year. You do not need to be taking French to host. See a French teacher if you are interested.
