FIORENTINA
CANNES (A.M.)
Nov 18th 1935
Dear Monsieur de Laszlo –
How kind of you to send me the London Illustrated News with the photograph of the splendid painting of the King of Greece [7817] – Thank you very much, also for your kind and interesting letter of Oct. 27th –
[Page 2]
It was a happiness for me to hear that you were planning to come to Menton with Madame de Laszlo this winter & that you would both come over and make us a visit –
The season of year will be very quiet, but you will not mind if there is not much to do – Madame de Laszlo will play the violin for us in the evenings –
We are anxiously waiting for this war to finish and I sincerely hope that
[Page 3]
I shall never hear that word “sanctions” again in my life time –
Dominique has not yet come down and the portrait remains as it was. I thought if you were coming I would have it for you to see & perhaps explain to Dominique what he must do – it does not look as terrible now as it did in the Spring –
When will you be here we can talk about the exhibition in London in the early Summer
[Page 4]
King George will soon be in Athens and I hope he will save money during his reign and send it to London for safekeeping & [illegible] as a nest egg for when he will be turned out again by the changeable Greeks –
With love to you and Madame de Laszlo and anticipating the great pleasure of having you at Fiorentina again this Season, believe me
Devotedly your friend
Daria Karageorgevitch
