Job Summary:
The Softchoice designer is the champion of the corporate brand look and feel. It’s the designer’s task to infuse the Softchoice brand in every piece of content we produce – print, digital and social. This is an outstanding opportunity for a recent design graduate or junior designer looking to kick-start their career with a broad and diverse selection of projects across a range of media - at one of the best client-side gigs you’ll find.
The Softchoice designer regularly demonstrates the impact great design has on our business, and possesses a strong mix of creative thinking and technical expertise. The Softchoice designer designs and executes a wide range of content, including websites and online ads, mobile apps, motion graphics, videos, presentations, magazines, printed brochures, print advertisements, internal communication & sales materials, event branding, and a variety of other branded content.
Key responsibilities:
- Synthesize business inputs into visual design. Distill and organize large amounts of complex business information into simple and usable designs.
- Subject matter expertise. Demonstrates strength in the areas of branded communications, videography, digital and print design.
- Cross-disciplined learner. Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly, and handle multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced high-technology business environment.
- Collaborative Team Player. Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Has a great sense of humor, and knows how to use it.
- Marketing prowess. Strong familiarity with a broad set of marketing strategies and tactics. Knows what content marketing is and can explain it without Googling it.
Education, skill and experience required:
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design solving communication/business challenges
- Degree or diploma in Design/Visual Communication
- Very strong typography skills
- Very strong photography/videography skills
- Working knowledge of a prepress environment, including printing techniques, color theory, color separations, trapping, overprinting, bleeds and die lines
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Advanced Microsoft Office capabilities: PowerPoint skills are a must
- HTML programming expertise a bonus
- Exceptional project management skills
- Strong attention to detail
