• I can explain and support how the events in the book contrast the subject of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
• I can apply the events and circumstances in Malala’s life to broader global concepts:  belief systems, economy, geography, politics, culture etc...
• I can explain how citizenship is defined in Malala’s culture.
• I can discuss and support how Malala’s society views rights and responsibilities of its citizens.
• I can defend (through specific global studies content and the book) how the concept of justice and human values differ across time and place.
