Sinking of the Lusitania

What really happened to the Lusitania? Theories are made that it’s not 100% true that the u-boats were the ones that made the boat sink. The passengers on the ship were told that they were going through a German area but were completely safe. The passengers were clueless about all the rounds of ammunition in the bottom of the ship. There was more damage to the ship than what the torpedo caused. From my point of view i feel like the Sailor, etc knew that there would be conflict going through the German area and didn’t alert the passengers. The sailor saw the u-boat and headed right to it. I think the sailor had an idea but kept it to himself.
