Hearthstone China is Getting a Tournament App
Via @CelestialSinn & HearthPwn
Hearthstone players in China are getting a sanctioned tournament mode through a secondary application called Hearthstone Box which is developed by NETEASE. This will allow players to compete in automatic tournaments by installing the application on their computer and having it read data from the game client.

Blizzard China Hosting Sealed Hearthstone Tournament
In a relatively unheard of move, Blizzard China (Netease) is hosting a holiday tournament where players will compete in a sealed environment. According to the article, translated by Google, the winner and runner-up teams will both get a trip to the Maldives. A schedule for the entire event was posted, but it is unknown whether or not a stream will be available outside of the region, but it looks like it may be made available here.
Perhaps the most interesting note is that players will be given new accounts with 6,000 coins and 60 packs of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan cards. Players can use these coins on whatever they see fit, but may not spend them on Arena runs. Duplicates can be disenchanted and the Arcane Dust spent, but players can not active disenchant cards they do not want.
Based on performance, players will receive additional packs as they play. If a team manages to sweep 3 - 0, they'll get a full ten packs with diminishing returns the closer the series is all the way down to six to the winner and four to the loser in the case of a 3 - 2 result.

Hello Chicken Folk,
So, I was playing with what I like to call my Reno-shake priest, and was going late game turn by turn with a burgle rogue. - I'm at 30, then rogue is at 24. My board was clear, and the rogue had a sylvanas and cairne on their side, among a couple of unmemorable trash mobs.
At some point in the game, the Rogue burgled a prophet velen, which my dirty rat pulled onto the board. I follow that up with a brann/mind control tech to steal Cairne Bloodhoof along with Velen.
Still on the rogue's side of the board was Lady Sylvanas who had some prior damage and suicided into the tech, to regain control of the Cairne, leaving me with the velen, and the rogue ends her turn.
I proceed to drop my bloodmage thalnos and blow my earlier crafted 5 damage kazackas potion for now 12 damage, along with a rogue eviscerate I'd thought stolen earlier for 8. The burgled Velen who, against all odds, made it back to the priest player who never brought him along in the first place, then attacks to finish off the rogue, and the kicker? As he's attacking he slyly says... "I foresaw this."

Greeting clickety cluckers,
The new cards are upon us and we have all of them to look at and enjoy. Garrett gushes over the art, Jocelyn keeps the lore in check and Dills is planning the next big deck. The stats are analysed and the card text scrutinised. But for a long time the cards have not been looked at to their full extent! The outrage of the hoards of fans must be acknowledged!
In other words: what's your favourite flavour text from this batch of cards?
I'm going to go with Doppelgangster: "Every me, get in here!"

I’ve been seeing mostly Renolock on ladder today. I tried my best to play some buffadin but it just can't compete. It's becoming apparent that paladin will take priest's place as "only viable in wild". Pretty sour on HS today, maybe it'll be better tomorrow. Can't wait for the masses to flock to the next latest and greatest streamer deck list and flood the ladder. I hate the deck but at least pirate warrior games are over quickly. These reno games win or lose are taking up way too much time.
Is there a viable Standard Paladin build in the current meta?

I've never reached out before for an "email question" so I hope I'm in the right place! I just started listening to your podcast a couple months ago and was instantly hooked. Anyways, my question:
I've played Hearthstone since mid beta and have heard over the years from multiple sources that the game needs good cards and bad cards for each expansion or adventure. I do understand that some cards should be better in certain situations or in certain decks. I have never yet heard a strong, thought-out response as to why there should be objectively bad cards ever printed. Objectively bad cards are cards that never have a reasonable spot in any competitive deck. I realize you can also play just for fun, but objectively bad cards typically are not fun. I've heard the argument that if all cards were good then no cards would be good. Great! Why not have most decks be tier 1 decks? You would have way more diversity on the ladder and in tournaments. Someone please explain this to me!
