Dear Sir,

In response to your last letter may we humbly inform you that we have to date not been able to interest any German publication for your pictures of invalids. The pictures are not easy to place because of the old-fashioned subject matter but we are not giving up hope just yet. Sometimes one has to be patient in these matters if one wants to reach one's goal.

The xylographic rendering of your picture “Evening Prayer” [10669] has not yet

been finished. We had to keep postponing this work because the editors of Über Land und Meer [Over Land and Sea] kept inserting other images which were more urgent for delivery. We would be very pleased if you were to send us the history painting you promised as historical paintings are more popular than genre scenes but the photographs have to be large and clear otherwise all efforts are in vain.

Respectfully your humble

G. Heuer & Kirmse

PS If you were to receive a firm order from another party for your invalids pictures do accept it

while letting us know at the same time. As long as we have not sent you a fee you are not bound to us.

Most humbly yours,
