My Dear Mr. De Laszlo.
Please forgive me for the delay in replying to your letter which arrived when I was in Northumberland. I shall not only feel very proud of having been asked to sit for my picture [5398] to be hung in the Church House but it will be a special pleasure to me that it is to be in your studio, a pleasure that

is shared by my wife.[1]
The end of this month, however, is a very difficult time for me – not only have I got a great many things to do then, but my daughter is to be married on July 26 & I feel that my time will not be my own.[2]
Perhaps sometime in the late Autumn would be equally convenient to you?[3]
I am anxious to see your picture of Lord Cecil [4053].

[2] On 26 July 1932, Lady Elizabeth Katherine Grey (1908-1941) married Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Dawnay (1908-1990) at St. Margaret’s Westminster; George Kennedy Allen Bell, Bishop of Chichester (1883-1958) [2812] officiated the wedding. The previous year, the Bishop of Chichester had officiated the marriage of de László’s second son, Stephen [4375], to Diana von Versen [11084].
