Tattoo Comic Final.png Enduring Understandings: Students will understand how to use the elements of design and visual literacy to create a digital painting using Photoshop.

Learning Targets:

Students will learn how to use varying types of line to create interest, detail and shapes.

Students will learn how to use the Wacom stylus and tablet.

Students will  learn about color theory and varying techniques used by the impressionist artists.

Students will learn how to use the blur and smudge tools, brushes and brush palette.

The digital painting is extraordinary and has aesthetically pleasing qualities in color, contrast and tints and shades.

4 points: Creative use of Photoshop tools is demonstrated very well through add texture. Appropriate brushes are used effectively. Student has moved in multiple directions with the brushes.

Student used lines to create fine details and areas of emphasis.  The background is soft and has less detail to show depth and distance. Aerial perspective is well developed.

4 points: Student created their own image from scratch. Example: a fantasy painting or created their own character.

                             

4 points: animation runs smoothly with a story and communication. Tweens are developed well with smooth transitions scene to scene.

4points: A mood or drama is created by use of color unity and contrast to create glowing objects or edges based on light source created.

16 points:Below please write a descriptive paragraph(using proper paragraph form and grammar) about the process you went through to create your final.  Describe a technique you used to create your painting. Use art vocabulary such as: Shading, gradation/blending, texture, color usage/color theory, line, shape and other principles and elements of art.   What do you like the best about your final and why?  What do you need to fix or correct to make it better? Did you learn anything about your self in the process?

 

Total points possible: 60 points for a digital painting or 64 points for an animation.
