Why? Our out-of-school experiences can be profound. Many of the most important times of High Tech High students’ lives happen during camping trips, hikes, outdoor explorations and other off-campus activities. When we first read Walt Whitman we encountered his frustration and heartache over what he saw around him. He saw struggle, pain and a lack of love in the world. Our first drafts were the opposite. We celebrated the amazing and beautiful things in our world. This revision is meant to connect this thinking with the amazing things you are all doing.
