Testing Stand Design Criteria:
Established Design Criteria Table
Securely Held: Bottle Must be Securely Held by Fixture | Held Perpendicular:Bottle Must be Held Perpendicular in Fixture | Water Must be Caught in Container: All of Water Dispensed from Bottle Held in Fixture Must be Caught in Container | Water Flow is not Interfered With: Fixture Must not Interfere with Water Flow | Seal is not Interfered With: Fixture Must not Interfere with Seal |

Securely Held:
- Firmly holds bottle in place without outside assistance and wobbles minimally.
Held Perpendicular:
- For optimum use bottle needs to be held perpendicularly (straight up and down) by fixture.
Water Must be Caught in Container:
- For correct water use measurements, all water used must be caught in container.
Water Flow is not Interfered with:
- Fixture cannot interfere with water flow, as it may influence the device’s performance against the design criteria.
Seal is not Interfered with:
- Fixture cannot interfere with seal, as it may influence the device’s performance against the design criteria.
Testing Stand
1/1/15
Materials:
- 45.72 cm (18.0 in) of 5.8 cm (2.0 in) thick AD-40 Extruded Aluminum
- 15.24 cm (6.0 in) of 5.8 cm (2.0 in) wide AD-40 Sheet Aluminum
- 5.8 cm (2.0 in) of 2.54 cm (1.0 in) wide AD-40 Sheet Aluminum
- 2 Industrial Velcro Cable Ties
- 1 0.635 cm (0.25 in) Standard Zip Ties
- 5 0.635 cm (0.25 in) Bolt Fasteners
- 2 26.67 cm (10.5 in) by 34.29 cm (13.5 in) of Plywood Sheets
- Wood Glue
- Clamps
- 0.95 cm (0.375 in) Bit Drill
- 5/16-18 Tap
- Milling Machine
Fabrication:
- Take 26.67 cm (10.5 in) by 34.29 cm (13.5 in) of Plywood Sheets and attach them with wood glue. Use clamps to keep wood steady until dry.
- Drill two holes in middle of 26.67 cm (10.5 in) edge of wood with bit drill.
- Take 5.8 cm (2.0 in) thick AD-40 extruded aluminum and cut to 45.72 cm (18.0 in) length with band saw.
- Take 5.8 cm (2.0 in) wide AD-40 sheet aluminum and cut to 15.24 cm (6.0 in) length with band saw.
- Take 2.54 cm (1.0 in) wide AD-40 sheet aluminum and cut to 5.8 cm (2.0 in) length with band saw.
- Drill two holes in middle of 5.8 cm (2.0 in) of 2.54 cm (1.0 in) wide AD-40 sheet aluminum with 5/16-8 Tap.
- In hole closest to edge, thread and secure zip tie, cut zip tie ‘tail.’
- Thread velcro through zip tie and secure.
- Attach 5.8 cm (2.0 in) of 2.54 cm (1.0 in) wide AD-40 sheet aluminum to very top extruded aluminum.
- Take 15.24 cm (6.0 in) of 5.8 cm (2.0 in) wide AD-40 sheet aluminum and mill a 2.54 cm (1.0 in) hole 2.54 cm (1.0 in) away from edge with milling machine.
- Drill a hole with bit drill in 15.24 cm (6.0 in) of 5.8 cm (2.0 in) wide AD-40 sheet aluminum and bolt to extruded aluminum 20.32 cm (8.0 in) from top of extruded aluminum.
Assembly:
- Bolt metal stand to plywood to create final product for testing stand.
