Photo I Shooting Assignment:
Exhausting Subject Matter
Exhausting subject matter is just that-shooting a roll of film on a very limited idea. You at the photographer need to explore as many different aspects of the subject as possible. Try many different camera angles or distances with a particular subject. Possibly doing the same subject at different times of the day or under different lighting conditions. Perhaps they all deal with motion or depth of field. Maybe they are journalistic or commercial. The key to success is to try a variety of approaches in imaging a given idea or subject.
Remember that this is the final Photo I assignment and should be your best work! Snap shots or casual approaches are not acceptable! You should approach your images as an artist would approach them. We should see evidence of planning, of effort over time, of careful composition and use of camera and lens effects like depth of field or shutter speed. Negatives should not be under or over exposed. Make sure you read you light meter carefully. Make sure your ISO is set to 400.
Assignment: Students will shoot 24 images (1 roll) of 35 mm film or they may take 24 images using their digital camera of a subject matter of their choice.
