Naperville North High School Names Nate Bornancin as Head Girls Volleyball Coach

Naperville North High School is excited to announce the hiring of Nate Bornancin as the next Head Coach of the Girls Volleyball Program. Coach Bornancin brings over two decades of volleyball coaching experience, including dozens of seasons at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels.

The selection of Coach Bornancin follows an extensive search and comprehensive interview process that included committees of Naperville North coaches, parents, and student-athletes. Their input helped identify a leader who embodies the culture and competitive standard of Huskie Athletics.

A longtime educator and coach in Naperville Community Unit School District 203, Bornancin has built a legacy of success and player development. He served as the Head Boys Volleyball Coach at Naperville North from 2010–2022, leading the program to 235 wins (35th all-time in IHSA history), a state runner-up finish, and multiple conference and regional championships. He also spent over a decade coaching in the girls volleyball program, including as a Varsity Assistant during the team’s 2022 run to a sectional final.

Coach Bornancin has coached numerous All-State, All-Area, and collegiate athletes, and was selected as the 2012 IHVCA All-Stars Head Coach. A Naperville North alumnus and former State Finalist player himself, Bornancin brings deep knowledge of the game and a passion for mentoring student-athletes.

“Nate is a proven leader who understands what it takes to build a championship culture while prioritizing the student-athlete experience,” said Jon Pereiro, Athletic Director. “He’s deeply connected to the Naperville North community, and his ability to inspire, teach, and lead is exactly what our program needs.”

Coach Bornancin holds a Master’s in Technology and Leadership from Concordia University and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. Coach Bornancin is an elementary school teacher in Naperville District 203.
