Dear Mr. de Laszlo,
Mr. Butler tells me that you are not yet suited with a Secretary. I wonder whether my Brother-in-Law would suit your requirements.
He will after Christmas, unless a good job turns up, be on the look out for a permanent post, his Company having been dragged down by Bevan and been compelled to shut down. He was educated at the City of London School and the College Communal de Boulogne s/Mer, speaks French, writes a little shorthand and can of course compose good letters.
He is a trained Accountant, which is I believe one of the qualifications you require. He could not give his whole time to your work, but I think you don’t want this. He could come in the evening and could continue when he gets a new post of course. He is a very careful and thorough man and held a very responsible position with his late (or soon to be late) firm.
If you think this could possibly fill in the gap for you would you be kind enough to let me know and I will get him to come and call on you.
Yours very truly
Ethyl M. Jolley
