Test Preparation Suggestions for Parents and Teachers

Purpose

MTAS is a performance-based assessment in reading, for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. It is an alternate assessment based on alternate achievement standards that feature substantial reductions in the complexity of the academic content standards.

Current Use of Data

  • Inform classroom teaching and learning.
  • Identifies topics that need improvement so teachers can alter teaching methods or adjust instructional time.

  • Inform curriculum review needs/priorities.
