FAQs
Can I embed my live stream into a Twitter post?
Yes, you can. All you need to do is email Todd todd@blive.nyc and give him the url for the web page where your live stream will be hosted. (i.e. www.yournamehere.com) and he will create a short link which will be compatible with Twitter. That link will be posted in the Social Sharing tab in your BLive Support page (see menu above, when ready). All you’ll need to do is copy and paste that link into a tweet and your embed will be right inside the tweet.
Can I embed my live stream into a Facebook post?
Facebook does not allow embedding into posts. If you’d like to stream with Facebook Live, contact todd@blive.nyc and we can discuss streaming to your FB Live account, in parallel to your main stream.
Can I get a test embed code before my campaign is ready?
Sure, try this one out. A VOD video will load & play:
<script type="text/javascript" src="//embed.blivenyc.com/speed-app/2/?action=integratedEmbed&width=980&tags=eog-direct,video-teaser-dock-diving,integrated&campaign_id=1598&responsive=1&integrated=1&gk=48j3p7"></script>
How long before my On-Demand video is up?
On-Demand videos are up typically 2-5 minutes after the conclusion of your live show.
Can we do See-Now, Buy-Now within our video?
Yes, we have had great experience with enabling See Now, Buy Now collections, making all products available for purchase the instant they hit the runway. Contact todd@blive.nyc to discuss options for enabling commerce within your live and VOD video. You can also check out examples here: http://www.blive.nyc/shoppable
Is the embed code https friendly?
Yes. The embed code will deliver all content in the protocol (http or https) of the parent page that it is installed on. If you have a particularly complex event (aka, with ecommerce or social widgets), you may see content warnings on images outside of our system. Even if you see these warnings - your embed is still secure.
What is the purpose of having a pre-show and a post-show slate?
The slates act as placeholders to inform viewers of when they will be able to watch your runway show. The pre-show slate should include the date and time of your show. The post-show slate will only be seen in the approximately two hours between the end of your show and the posting of the On-Demand video. It should advise viewers to return shortly in order to watch the show again. The post-show slate is typically only seen for a few minutes before the VOD is posted.
Do I need to do anything for the stream to change states (From pre-show to live to post-show to on-demand)?
No, all you need to do is have the player in your web page and everything will be handled on our end. The player will change states automatically in your page.
Why do my slates need to be 1920x1080?
The frame the stream lives within is proportioned at 16:9 and 1920x1080 fits into that proportion at an HD resolution. This way we have a slate that won’t stretch when it’s placed into the player and will also look great at regular or full screen.
My distribution partners need an iframe version of the embed code.
On your /distro support page they can choose between javascript and iframe versions of the embed code.
My distribution partners require the video to be a different size than I have on my web page. How do I get them a custom sized stream?
You can adjust the size of the streaming frame in BLive Support > Embed (“Embed” link above). All you have to do is enter a width and it will automatically create a 16:9 proportional height. Generate the code and send it to your distribution partners. If you have any trouble, feel free to contact Todd todd@blive.nyc
There are certain overlays/widgets/features that I don’t want to appear on my distribution partner’s sites - Can we do that?
Yes you can. Contact Todd todd@blive.nyc - we can tag certain elements of your event to appear only in the distro or flagship versions.
What is the difference between my live stream and the edited video?
The live stream is edited & streamed live, during the show. The edited video sent by our post-production team is made in order to adjust or fix any slight issues that couldn’t be fixed during the live edit.
