DEED OF FOUNDATION.

A fund was established with the sum realised, the interest thereof and donations contributed on the occasion of the tableaux vivants arranged in 1930 by the members of the diplomatic staff resident in Budapest, with which money we purchased works of art. We realised these on the first occasion by way of a lottery drawn in April 1932 under the direction of a committee formed for this special purpose.

We are establishing a fund with the 20.000 pengö collected in this manner, the management of which will be entrusted to a council of seven members, with the aim that by using the fund as circulating capital the Council shall purchase works of art from Hungarian artists from time to time and shall circulate these by way of a lottery, in order to set the returning fund again and again in the service of this cause. We shall invite [...] to take part in the Council which completes itself by way of co-optation.

The vocation of the Council will be to draw up rules of procedure which, with regard to the future, it must arrange in proper order the organ of the Council, the transaction of purchases, the management of the lotteries, the control and supervision of accounts and all further details, in such a manner that the entire action shall be placed under the authority of the principal guardian of Hungarian affairs of art: The Royal Hungarian Ministry of Religion and Public Instruction.

God grant that this Fund may develop and serve as a blessing to the cause of Hungarian art.
