CHARACTERS:

List the main characters and their personality traits/characteristics.  Include support for your ideas.

PLOT ANALYSIS

1. Exposition -

a)What facts do you learn about the characters and the setting before the story's action really begins?

        

b)Setting - What is the setting of the story (time, location)?  Describe in some detail.


        

c) Initiating Event - What situation or problem do the characters respond to that begins the action?

2. Rising Action

        a). Complications - What events cause problems, conflict, or some dilemma for the characters?


        b) Conflict - What major problem prevents the characters from reaching their goals?


        c)  Response - How does the main character respond to the initiating event? Include thoughts &

actions.


        d)  Attempt - What is the character's plan to solve the problem or situation that was started by the

initiating event?

3. Climax 

  1. What event causes a turning point, or climax of the story? (The climax is the highest point of intensity or excitement in the story).

4. Falling Action

  1. Consequences - What is the result of the attempt made by the main character?  Is it a success or failure

5. Resolution 

a)What is the situation of the characters at the end of the story?

b)How does the story resolve itself?  

c)What are the character's and audience's feelings about the story at the end?  

d) What is the conclusion or moral of the story? What is the theme of the story?
