Purpose of Policy

We created this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to give you confidence as you use Gratify (collectively, the “Service”). This Policy covers how we collect, use, store, and share the information we collect about you. Our Terms of Use ( apply to this Policy as well. All references to “we”, “us”, “our”, or “Gratify” refer to Gratify LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. All references to “you”, “your”, or “user” refers to an end-user of the Service.

There are two types of Users on Gratify: “Client Users” and “Freelancers”. A “User” refers to any of either a Freelancer or Client User. Client Users use Gratify to engage with Freelancers. Freelancers are using Gratify to match and perform work (“Tasks”) for Client Users. You can always contact us at if you have any questions about this policy.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

Gratify collects and stores information you provide or that we collect to administer our Services and/or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

Information you provide when creating an account.

When you connect your Slack account to Gratify we collect information about your Slack profile such as your email, name, and other information associated with your Slack account. This information also allows us to communicate with you and perform basic functions such as opening channels with freelancers.

When you apply to be a Freelancer, you will be required to provide us with various information, including your name, email address, and information that helps us verify your identity and professional experience.

Users may also connect a payment method, such as a bank or a credit card, to your Gratify account. We do not store your Bank or Credit Card information.

Other Information that you provide us directly.

We collect information that you provide us. For example, when Client Users create Tasks they provide us with information about the Task. We will share this information with Users on the Service. to promote Gratify through its various marketing, sales, and similar channels.

We collect information with respect to Slack conversations where either (a) we have been invited to the specific channel or (b) we have been mentioned or directly messaged. Gratify stores those conversations and all uploaded content, reactions, messages, and any other activity within the permissed conversation. We use this data to provide support, concierge assistance, dispute assistance, and improve the Service.

Information automatically collected as you use the Service.

When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain information from your Device, its software, and your activity using the Services. This may include, for example (but without limitation), the Device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, the web page visited before or after you came to our website, information you search for on our website, locale preferences, identification numbers associated with your Devices, your mobile carrier, date and time stamps associated with transactions, system configuration information, metadata, and interactions with the Service, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.


We use cookies to remember you as a user of the Service and to streamline the functionality of the Service. These are first party cookies, not third party cookies, meaning that the cookies are only used to track your activity on the Service, and not on third party sites or services.

Third parties such as Slack may use cookies as you use the Service. These cookies are beyond our control and we recommend that you review how such third parties may use cookies.

Other Anonymous Data We Collect.

When you use and visit the Service, we may also use third-party services, such as Google Analytics and business intelligence tools, which use cookies to collect generic, anonymous information that does not identify you. We use this information to better understand how users interact with the Service and to improve your user experience while using the Service.

Do Not Track Signals.

While we do track and collect your information while using our Service, we do not track your activity or collect information from you across third party websites or online services. To the extent that we do receive any such Do-Not-Track signals or similar signals, we will comply with them to the best of our ability.

Purpose and Legal Basis for Using Personal Information

In the course of using the Service, we may collect or otherwise obtain information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Information"). Under one or more of the following GDPR lawful bases:

  1. Data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes
  2. Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract

  5. Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or share your personally identifiable information with advertisers. We also do not share your personally identifiable information with other third parties except to the extent that it is in furtherance of the Service, such as linking a payment method to your Gratify account, or when you otherwise choose to do so (as described below).

Our Personnel And Vendors.

To be able to effectively provide you with the Service, and to improve the functionality of the Service, we may disclose your information to our employees, contractors, agents, vendors, and other similar persons or entities.

Other Users.

To be able to effectively provide you with the Service, and to improve the functionality of the Service, we may disclose your information to other Users of the Service.

Sale of Company or Assets.

In the event that we sell all or substantially all of our company or its assets, including the user information collected through our Service, we may transfer your information, upon reasonable notice to you, to the acquiring company.

Other Third Parties.

In addition to our practices described above, we may share your information if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (1) comply with the law (see the section below on “Government Requests”), (2) protect and defend the rights or property of Gratify, or (3) prevent an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury to any person.

How we Store Your Information

Storage and Retention Of Your Information.

Gratify will retain personal data we process on behalf of our Users for as long as needed to provide the Service. Our intention is to retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. We may retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and rights, or if it is not technically reasonably feasible to remove it. We use third parties to host and store your personally identifiable information, such as Slack, Asana, Amazon Web Services, Heroku, and others. As such, we do not control their practices related to storage and retention of your information.

If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you the Service, you may remove Gratify from Slack and contact us at with the subject ‘DELETE ACCOUNT’.


We use reasonable efforts to secure your information and to attempt to prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information that we obtain from you. In addition, we rely on the technical safeguards provided by the third party vendors we use to host, store, and process your information. However, you acknowledge and agree that loss, misuse, and alteration may occur despite our efforts to protect your information. We are not responsible to our users or to any third party due to any such loss, misuse, or alteration.

Changing or Deleting Your Information

Upon request Gratify will provide you with information about whether we hold, or process on behalf of a third party, any of your personal information. If you are a registered user, you may review, update, correct, or delete certain Personal Information provided in your registration or account profile by changing your Slack profile settings. If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire our Service, you may update or delete it by making the change in your account settings or Slack profile settings, although (in some cases) we may retain copies of your information if required by law, to protect our rights, or if it is not technically reasonably feasible to remove it. You may at any time withdraw any consent that you have provided to us to process your information, or exercise any of the following rights by contacting us as provided below. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before taking further action on your request, for security purposes.

User Data Supplementation

We may receive additional demographic information about you from other sources, including publicly available databases or third parties from whom we have purchased data, and combine this data with information we already have about you. This helps us to update, expand and analyze our records, identify new customers, and provide products and services that may be of interest to you. If you provide us personal information about others, or if others give us your information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.

Gratify obtains this business contact and company information from third party sources, such as business intelligence platforms. This information is used to support Gratify’s marketing and sales efforts. The Gratify sales team may contact you based on this information to gauge your company’s interest in Gratify’s services and technology solutions. Government Requests        

From time to time, we may receive requests from government agencies to obtain information about our users. In handling such government requests, we value the privacy of your information. While we may be required to turn over user information at times, we will strive to require a search warrant or subpoena, to the extent that we can reasonably demand such warrant or subpoena, before we turn over information about you and we will also strive to notify users when we receive government requests about their data.

Gratify reserves the right to change this Policy from time to time. We will provide you notice when required by applicable law when changes are made.
