Cher Maître –

May I send you a last greeting before leaving and tell you what joy you have given me with this last beautiful sketch [3207] which is a perfect treasure and of which my people will be so proud as it represents me in their national dress.

As I would like you also to keep a remembrance of our long & happy association, I am sending you, through my Minister a little cigarette box with the [Arms?] of Roumania which may perhaps please you as it is rather different from what is generally seen.

Ileana[1] is “[feelig?]” over the

picture of her beloved daughter [5564] and I thank you warmly for the great joy you have given her, by holding fast on canvas, an enchanting age which passes away all too quickly –

I have spoken to [illegible] Laptew[2] about sending the picture and about arranging with you about the printing in colour of my portrait –
