ATLANTA ARTIST DEBUTS CAPTURED ON CANVAS: ATLANTA IN MOTION AT ATLANTIC STATION
Atlanta artist, Steven Crofut, debuts his new show “Captured on Canvas: Atlanta in Motion” at West Elm Atlantic Station on Saturday, May 21, 2016.
Steven is an award-winning, video compositor who applies motion graphic composition techniques to create art prints on stretched canvas.
Steven’s works on display focus on the new energy of the changing Atlanta neighborhoods, a city in motion. Steven says, “My new ATL pieces are a colorful take on our city, a city in motion. Blending the images and tweaking the hues as I would when I craft a television commercial gives each piece a depth, and a rich character that is unique.”
Steven is a Midtown, Atlanta resident and the owner of SnapModern Creative. He started creating custom art when he designed pieces for CNN’s “Cathode Ray Lounge” while working as a Senior Post Production Editor for Turner. He has also created custom pieces to locally brand Shep’s Midtown Ace.
Steven recently received a commission from Abraham Properties to create corridor art for the new 675 Highland mid-rise development. Steven’s work will also be featured in Abraham Properties’ model home for the Poncey-Highland property.
Steven was selected to display his work at Blick Art Materials and at the Marietta Square Art Walk’s Encore Show.
Pieces from “Captured on Canvas: Atlanta in Motion” will be available for purchase in several sizes on Saturday, May 21.
