Mrs. Burns teaches Second Grade at Sligo Elementary, instructing across the curriculum in Reading, Math, English and Science.
I hold a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Clarion University.
My work has instructed students in First through Fifth Grades.
We will participate in a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day at the Clarion County Park near the year’s end.
Each year, the class works on a school project. We have begun an apple orchard, painted hopscotch patterns, and worked on getting handicapped equipment on the playground in Sligo.
I keep updated by being involved with inservices and workshops.
While attending Clarion University, I instructed at the McKeever Environmental Learning Center.
In the past, I have attended the STEM Governor’s Institute at Penn State in Harrisburg.
Audubon and Seneca Reading Council are present interests.
I reside at Curllsville with my husband, Steve.
We enjoy mowing yard, being outdoors and helping with the family business.
My love is to encounter past students, being productive members in many communities.
I am excited to work with your child and family this year. Together we will watch them become a learner for the goals they aspire towards; physician, librarian, mechanic, nurse, beautician or a facilitator of learning in any community.
It’s great working with you, as parents, to inspire your child’s love for learning.
