INTRODUCTION

Making Social Media Automation Easy!

Follow Liker is a powerful software that aids and eases the management and automation of Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr activities.

CREATING AND LOADING PROJECTS

GETTING STARTED

Before you can start using the software, you need to create a project. If you have an existing project you will have to load the project.

CREATING A PROJECT

Create a new project by selecting the "File" menu, click "New Project...", give your project a name and save. See the image below:

project1

Custom Settings Project

If you want all the accounts in the new project to use different settings and values, check the "Each account should have separate settings." box. See the image below:

clip0046

To access the Custom Settings Wizard, right-click on an account and select "Custom Settings->Wizard"

Global Settings Project

If you want all the accounts in the new project to use the same settings and values, uncheck the "Each account should have separate settings." box. See the image below:

clip0048

You can access the Global Settings Wizard by clicking the "Tools->Global Wizard" menu.

A Global Settings Project can be used to force the accounts in a project not to follow the same users, like/comment on the same photos and pins, post/retweet/like/reply the same tweets, repin the same pins, reblog the same blog posts…

LOADING A PROJECT

If you already have an existing project select the "File" menu and click "Load Project..." to open the project. See the image below:

project2

IMPORTANT NOTES

While using a Global Settings Project, a time will come when there will be too much data in the database of the project. This is because all the accounts in the project are sharing data and it is important that some data be retained. Therefore, when the software's database starts showing signs of fatigue, you should move your accounts to a new project or use some of the delete menus on this page: General Project Features to free up the database.

The default settings inside the software are good for all categories of accounts. So, you don't have to change much of the settings at the initial stage of the software's usage.

You should backup the projects regularly using the steps on this page: FAQ . This is because any unforeseen event can happen, which could then affect the smooth running of the software.

ADDING ACCOUNTS

ADDING ACCOUNTS MANUALLY

In order to add your Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Tumblr accounts, create or load a project and then follow these simple steps:

  1. Right-click on the white area of main window and select "New...". See the image below:

account1

  1. Enter your account's username, password and/or email address. If you want to use a proxy with your account, enter the proxy in the "Proxy" field.
  2. The use of proxy is optional. Proxies should be in any of the two formats below (the elements must separated by a colon):

IP:PORT

IP:PORT:PROXY-USERNAME:PROXY-PASSWORD (Proxy that requires authentication)

127.0.0.1:80

127.0.0.1:80:prxusername1:prxpassword1

See the image below:

clip0146

Click the "Save" button when you are done.

ADDING A LIST OF ACCOUNTS

In order to add a list of accounts, follow these simple steps:

  1. Create a csv or txt file.
  2. Ensure that each account is on a separate line. The account must be in the following format:

For Twitter and Instagram Accounts:

username,password

username,password,127.0.0.1:80 (Account with a proxy that doesn't require authentication)

username,password,127.0.0.1:80:prxusername1:prxpassword1 (Account with a proxy that requires user authentication)

For Pinterest and Tumblr Accounts:

email,username,password

email,username,password,127.0.0.1:80 (Account with a proxy that doesn't require authentication)

email,username,password,127.0.0.1:80:prxusername1:prxpassword1 (Account with a proxy that requires user authentication)

  1. Right-click on the white area of main window and select "Import...". See the image below:

account2

  1. Select the saved csv or txt file and click the "Open" button to load the accounts in.
  1. Don't add the @ symbol to your account's username.
  2. If your proxy is a Sock4 or Sock5 proxy, add an "S" to the proxy.

Example: S127.0.0.1:80

IMPORTANT NOTES

It is not compulsory to use proxies, but it is advisable to use proxies if you will be managing many accounts. Proxy is an IP address that is used to mask a web request (i.e shield the main/computer's IP from being revealed). Using proxies or different IPs will make the social media networks to think that your accounts are being used in different locations and by different persons. You can manage 5 accounts with one IP/proxy, so you don't need proxies if you will be running less than 6 accounts. The best proxies to use are Private Proxies. You should buy your proxies from a reputable seller who has adequate knowledge and information about the social media network that you want to target.

Most private proxies require authentication. So, before adding private proxy to the software, make sure that you ip-authenticate your computer's IP address on the proxy provider's website or attach the proxy username and password to the proxy using the format above. Contact your proxy provider for help if you don't know which of the two methods is required for your proxy.

If you want to add new account to a project which is already running, it is better to Stop the project and Start it after adding the account and settings.

*** If you want to change your account's password outside of FollowLiker, you should stop the software, change the password and then add the new password to the software.

ADDING PROXIES

Using proxy is not compulsory, but if you have a list of proxies that you want your accounts to use, follow these simple steps (each proxy will be automatically assigned to your accounts):

  1. Create a csv or txt file.
  2. Ensure that each proxy is on a separate line. The proxies must be in any of the two formats below (the elements must separated by a colon):

IP:PORT

IP:PORT:PROXY-USERNAME:PROXY-PASSWORD (Proxy that requires user authentication)

127.0.0.1:80

127.0.0.1:80:prxusername1:prxpassword1

  1. Go to the proxy manager. Select the "Tools" menu and select "Proxy Manager..." See the image below:

proxy1

  1. Click the "File" menu on the proxy manager window and select "Import...".
  2. Select the saved csv or txt file and click the "Open" button to load in the proxies.

IMPORTANT NOTES

If your proxy is a Sock4 or Sock5 proxy, add an "S" to the proxy.

Example: S127.0.0.1:80

It is not compulsory to use proxies, but it is advisable to use proxies if you will be managing many accounts. Proxy is an IP address that is used to mask a web request (i.e shield the main/computer's IP from being revealed). Using proxies or different IPs will make the social media networks to think that your accounts are being used in different locations and by different persons. You can manage 5 accounts with one IP/proxy, so you don't need proxies if you will be running less than 6 accounts. The best proxies to use are Private Proxies.

When you add proxies to the "Proxy Manager", the software will automatically assign the proxies to accounts that doesn't have proxy, based on the "Account Per Proxy" value in the "General Settings".

GENERAL SETTINGS

These are general settings (general project settings) that affect the whole project, including captcha settings and how schedules are timed. To access the general settings, click the "File" menu and select "Settings..." under "General..." item. See the image below:

project3

GENERAL

Account Per Proxy

This is the maximum number of accounts that can share each proxy added to the "Proxy Manager" table.

Account Threads

This is the maximum number of accounts that will be processed at the same time or per batch. If the number of accounts in a project is higher than the Account Threads, the accounts will be processed in batches of the Account Threads value, one after the other.

Automation Interval

This is a setting that controls "Enable continuous automation". It is the number of minutes or seconds to wait before the next schedule/loop starts. Example: 1 to 7.

Enable activity logging

Checking this box indicates that you want the software log the activities of the accounts in the project.

Enable continuous automation

Checking this box indicates that you want to run the software continuously until you decide to stop manually.

Enable account auto unlocking

Checking this box indicates that you want the software to automatically reset your Twitter account's password when Twitter requests password change. (This option is only available in the Twitter module)

See the image below:

clip0144

Captcha  - This is where you can change captcha related settings:

  1. Disable - this will ignore any captcha encountered.
  2. Manual -  this will show captcha on the screen and request the captcha text be typed in manually.
  3. Remote - this will send detected captcha to decoding services like De-Captcher and
  4. DeathByCaptcha - Provide your username and password for your preferred captcha decoding service on subsequent tabs and click the test button to make sure it works.

Please Note: Captcha settings are optional. You may ignore this step.

clip0179

  1. Click the "Next" button on the page when you are done.
  2. Configure the follow user settings. See the settings explanation below:

Option

Function Description

Follower to Following Ratio

This can be used to prevent your account from following too many users. For example, if you want your account to maintain a ratio of 3 followers to 2 following, do this: (3:2 = 3/2 = 1.5) You will then enter 1.5 as the ratio. If you don't set the ratio or leave it at 0.00, the software will continue following users. This option is for limiting the number of users who will be followed, therefore you should set it to 0.00 if you want to continuously follow users.

Follow Limit

This is the number of users that will be followed by each account per run before moving to the next task. Example: 1 to 5. It is a break-up of the Daily Follow Limit into small bits, spread throughout the day. There are many runs within a day, so it is not necessary to set the numbers too high.

Daily Follow Limit

This is the maximum number of user following that you want each account to perform per day.

Delay Follow (Seconds)

This is the interval between each user-following process of the Follow Limit. (Example: 5 to 15)

Follow users who posted...days ago

This will ensure that only users whose last photo was posted within the number of days specified will be followed. Example: 0 to 1 (which means between now and yesterday)

Follow users who have...photos

This will ensure that only users who have the number of photos/videos entered will be followed. (Example: 1 to 1000)

Follow users who have...followers

This will ensure that only users who have the number of followers entered will be followed. (Example: 100 to 1000)

Follow users who have...followings

This will ensure that only users who have the number of followings entered will be followed. (Example: 1 to 1000)

Follow users when I have...followings

This will ensure that users are followed only when your account's followings count is between the numbers specified. (Example: 0 to 7000)

Ignore private user

This will ensure that private users are not followed.

Follow a user once

This will ensure that a user who has been followed by one account is not followed by other accounts. (Global wizard option)

See image below:

clip0118

  1. Click the "Next" button on the page when you are done.

  1. Click the "Finish" button to complete the process.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Each query should be on a separate line.

Results that will be returned by Instagram for the "Normal Search" queries will usually be limited in number. So, it is better to use "User Who Tagged" Query Type if you want more results.

Results that will be returned by Instagram for the "Location", "Users Who Liked" and "Users Who Commented" queries may be limited in number. Instagram most times doesn't display all the usernames that liked a photo or commented a photo and most users don't attach a location to their profiles or photos.

Instagram will not allow an account to follow more than 7500 users at a time. You will notice a reduction in the number of users that your account will be able to follow daily when your account's Following Count is getting closer to 7500.

UNFOLLOW USERS

To unfollow previously followed Instagram users, right-click on an account and select "Custom Settings->Wizard" or click "Tools->Global Wizard" on the top menu bar.

•Step 1: Check the "Unfollow" and "Retrieve existing followers and followings" boxes on the first page of the wizard, then click the "Next" button. See the image below:

clip0187

•* If you don't want your account to unfollow it's current followings, you can automatically whitelist all the followings by unchecking "Retrieve existing followers and followings" box. This means only users followed with FollowLiker will be unfollowed.

•Step 2: Configure the unfollow user settings. See the settings explanation below:

•Follower to Following Ratio - This can be used to prevent your account from unfollowing too many users. For example, if you want your account to maintain a ratio of 3 followers to 2 following, do this:

3:2 = 3/2 = 1.5

You will then enter 1.5 as the ratio. If you don't set the ratio or leave it at 0.00, the software will continue unfollowing users. This option is for limiting the number of users who will be unfollowed, therefore you should set it to 0.00 if you want to continuously unfollow users.

•Unfollow After (Days) - This is the number of days to wait before attempting to unfollow a user (days counting begins on the day that the user was followed with the software or the day that the username was added to the followings table in the project). If you enter 0 in the input box, all previously followed users will be queued for unfollowing. It is not advisable to use 0 if you are following users at the same time.

•Unfollow Limit - This is the number of users that will be unfollowed by each Instagram account per run before moving to the next task. Example: 1 to 5. It is a break-up of the Daily Unfollow Limit into small bits, spread throughout the day. There are many runs within a day, so it is not necessary to set the numbers too high.

•Daily Unfollow Limit - This is the maximum number of unfollows that you want each account to perform per day.

•Delay Unfollow (Seconds) - This is the interval between each unfollowing process of the Unfollow Limit. Example: 5 to 15

•Unfollow users when I have...followings - This will ensure that users are unfollowed only when your account's followings count is between the numbers specified. Example: 0 to 7000

•Don't unfollow followers - this will ensure that a user will not be unfollowed if that user is following the Instagram account that is being processed.

•Blacklist unfollowed user - this will add any user you unfollow to the blacklist and they will not be followed again.

See image below:

clip0186

•Click the "Next" button on the page when you are done.

•Step 3: Click the "Finish" button to complete the process.

IMPORTANT NOTES

•If you believe that your account is not unfollowing users or not unfollowing the number of users that you want, set "Unfollow After" to 1 or 0 days, set "Follower to Following Ratio" to 0.00, uncheck the "Don't unfollow followers" box and increase "Daily Unfollow Limit" a bit.

SHARE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS

To share or upload photos and videos, right-click on an account and select "Custom Settings->Wizard" or click "Tools->Global Wizard" on the top menu bar.

•Step 1: Check the "Share Photo/Video" box on the first page of the wizard and click the "Next" button. See the image below:

clip0189

•Step 2: Configure the share photo/video settings. See the settings explanation below:

Share Limit - This is the number of photos/videos that will be shared/uploaded by each account per run before moving to the next task. Example: 1 to 1. It is a break-up of the Daily Share Limit into small bits, spread throughout the day. There are many runs within a day, so it is not necessary to set the numbers too high.

Daily Share Limit - This is the maximum number of photos/videos that will be shared/uploaded by each account per day.

Delay Share (Seconds) - This is the interval between each photo/video sharing process of the Share Limit. Example: 5 to 15

Photo/Video Folder - This is the path to the folder from which photos and videos to be shared/uploaded will be selected.

•Randomize photo/video sharing - this will ensure that photos/videos are randomly selected from the "Photo/Video Folder".

•Ignore photo/video with no caption - this will ensure that photos/videos that doesn't have captions will not be shared.

•Step 2b: Add captions. Right-click on the captions table and select "New...", add your captions and save. You can also import captions from csv or txt file, use the "Import..." item (one caption per line).

 See the image below:

clip0190

Note: If you don't want the photos/videos to have any caption, enter {} as caption and save.

Note: If you enter text into the First Comment field, that text will be posted as comment immediately after posting the photo/video.

Note: If you enter a location into the Location field, that location will be attached to the photo/video. Example: Los Angeles, California . You can also use this page to get valid locations: https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/

Note: If you enable or set Share Time for a photo/video, it will be shared when the time and date is reached. (Share Limit, Delay Share and Automation Interval options will not be considered)

•You can automatically add random usernames in the scraped users table to your captions by including this tag in the captions: <@mention>

•You can automatically add random usernames in the followers table to your captions by including this tag in the captions: <@follower>

•You can automatically add random usernames in the followings table to your captions by including this tag in the captions: <@following>

•Click the "Next" button on the page when you are done.

•Step 3: Click the "Finish" button to complete the process.

IMPORTANT NOTES

•These are the supported photo file formats/extensions: .png, .jpeg and .jpg

•These are the supported video file formats/extensions: .avi, .flv, .mov, .mp4, .mpeg, .mpg and .wmv

•If you want to add lengthy texts or spintax to the Captions Table, use the "Import" option. Type the texts or spintax into a txt or csv file and import the file into the table.

•If you set "Share Limit" to 1-1, "Delay Share" will still be used to determine the time that the next photo/video will be shared, unlike the other tasks. Therefore, you don't have to set "Share Limit" above 1-1 if you are running other tasks.

•If you want to import captions that have comma (,) symbol from a csv or txt file, enclose each line of caption with quote marks. Example: "Take it to the shop, preferably today." You can use this tool to quote the captions and add line-breaks: http://www.followliker.com/utilities/quotelines.php

•If you want to import captions plus assigned images/videos using a csv or txt file and you don't know the format to use, add a dummy caption to the Captions Table. Export the content of the table and you will have the format.

•Make sure that the photos/videos that you want to upload are directly in the "Photo/Video Folder" selected and not in a sub-folder or another folder entirely.

•Each photo/video will be shared only once. If you want your account to re-share the photos/videos, rename the files or clear the "Shared Photos/Videos" table in the wizard.

On the first page of the wizard, check the "Show advanced options" box, click the "Next" button and you will see the Whitelist Table on the next page. Add only the username, don't put the @ symbol, space or any other character. The usernames added to the whitelist table will not be unfollowed.

(4) How do I blacklist users whom I don't want to follow or scrape their data?:

On the first page of the wizard, check the "Show advanced options" box, click the "Next" button and you will see the Blacklist Table on the next page. Add only the username, don't put the @ symbol, space or any other character. The usernames added manually to the blacklist table will not be followed and their photos, tweet, pins, blogs... will not be scraped or processed. If you use the "Blacklist unfollowed users" option in the Unfollow Settings, the software will blacklist the unfollowed users automatically and your account will not follow those users again, but will be able to scrape and process their photos, tweet, pins, blogs...

(5) How do I generate list of usernames which I am currently following?:

1. On the first page of the wizard, check the "Scrape User" and "Show advanced options" boxes. Add the username of the target account as user search query and set the query type to "User's Following"

2. Run the software and go to the "Scraped Users" table on the second page of the wizard. When the number of users in the table reaches the desired number, stop the software.

3. Then, export the usernames from the "Scraped Users" table.

(6) What is proxy and when should I use it"?:

(7) The tasks are not being executed or reaching their daily limits:

It means any of the following occurred:

1. You are not using the latest version of FollowLiker. Solution: Click the "Help->Check Update" menu inside the software to update it.

2. Something is wrong with the settings. Solution: Review the settings thoroughly using the steps in this user guide.

3. An error occurred. Solution: Right-click on the account, select "Activity Log", check for error messages and make necessary adjustments.

4. Your computer sleeps or hibernates at a particular time of the day, thereby making the software to pause. Solution: Stop the computer from sleeping or hibernating, by adjusting the computer's power management settings.

5. The queries (keywords and hashtags) added don't have sufficient results. Solution: You should add more popular queries and also test different Query Types.

6. The "Task Limits" and "Task Delays" are too high. Since the tasks are executed one at a time, setting them too high can cause the daily limits not to be reached. Solution: Reduce the "Task Limits" and "Task Delays" of each task.

7. The "Automation Interval" is too high. Solution: Go to File->General->Settings and set the "Automation Interval" to 15-20 seconds.

8. The session cookies are corrupt. Solution: Close and relaunch the software. Click this menu: "File->Clear->All Session Cookies" and try again.

9. There are too many usernames in the Blacklist table. Solution: Clear the "Blacklist" table of that account or project and try again.

10. You are running too many accounts. If you run too many accounts than the capacity of your computer and internet connection can handle, the daily limits will not to be reached. Solution: Go to File->General->Settings, uncheck the "Enable activity logging" box, set "Account Threads" to 20, set "Automation Interval" to 1-2 seconds. After that, go to the wizard, reduce all the "Task Limits" greater than 3-3 to 3-3, reduce all the "Task Delays" greater than 3-4 seconds to 3-4 seconds. If this doesn't work, you may have to divide the accounts into groups and place them on different computers.

11. You are using a Global Settings Project and the project has collected too much data. Solution: You should move your accounts to a new project entirely or use some of the delete menus on this page: General Project Features to free up the database.

12. The social media network has placed a limit on your account/IP/proxy. Solution: Pause the account for about 24 hours and try again after that.

13. The data files of the project are corrupt. Solution: You should rebuild the project. Click this menu: "Help->Optimize Data", then click the "Rebuild Project" button. If rebuilding the project doesn't work, create a new project.

5. A limit has been imposed on your account as a result of following or unfollowing too many users within a short period. Solution: Set "Delay Follow" to 35-45 seconds and reduce the "Daily Follow Limit" to about 250-300 or lower, temporarily. Then, pause the account for about 24-48 hours and try again after that. You should also run the follow and unfollow tasks separately, on different days, using the Automation Weekdays option.

4. You have followed private users earlier. The number of private users followed are not usually added to the "Followings" count by some social media networks (especially Instagram). Therefore, when you unfollow private users who did not approve your 'follow requests', you won't notice any change in your account's Following count.

5. A limit has been imposed on your account as a result of following or unfollowing too many users within a short period. Solution: Set "Delay Unfollow" to 35-45 seconds and reduce the "Daily Unfollow Limit" to about 250-300 or lower, temporarily. Pause the account for about 24-48 hours and try again after that. You should also run the follow and unfollow tasks separately, on different days, using the Automation Weekdays option.

6. The data files of the project are corrupt. Solution: You should rebuild the project. Click this menu: "Help->Optimize Data", then click the "Rebuild Project" button. If rebuilding the project doesn't work, create a new project.
