Mr. Philip A. de Laszlo Esq., M.V.O.,

3, Fitzjohn’s Avenue,

LONDON, N.W.3.

Dear Mr. de Laszlo,

After posting your letter this afternoon[1] I had an Invitation for you sent to this address, which I have enclosed. This is rather an important function, but, unfortunately, there are no ladies to be present. I understand that the Lord Provost[2] and the members of the Council are very anxious for you to be present and there will be many distinguished people there, and I thought it might be pleasing to you.

I thought that perhaps you might be inclined to come direct to Dundee on Thursday first instead of breaking your journey at Glasgow. You arrive in Dundee sometime about 9.18 in the morning and I would arrange with Colonel Carnegy[3] to have the car to meet you at that time (I have asked them to invite Colonel Carnegy to this function). I am sure that Mrs. de Laszlo could spend a very pleasant hour or two at Lour until Colonel Carnegy and you return.

Then/

Then the following day is the Reception to Mrs. de Laszlo and you at 3.30, and the thought struck me that you might do Glasgow on the way back. If you decide to see Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan of Touch on your way to Glasgow, as it is a short run from Stirling Glasgow I am quite sure that they would motor you there, and this would give you a little more time than you would have had going by the way you originally intended.

Would you kindly wire me if this arrangement would be suitable to you and if you can come to the Officers’ luncheon, and I shall get immediately into touch with Colonel Carnegy of Lour regarding meeting you on Thursday morning.

With kind regards. | I am. | Yours very sincerely,

John Robertson
