How to Update mutalk 2 Firmware

This firmware update will support "48kHz, 24bit microphone input". A firmware update for the mutalk 2 dongle requires a Windows PC, while an iOS or Android smartphone is required.

Please follow the steps below to perform the firmware update.

1) Firmware update of the mutalk 2 dongle

1. Insert the mutalk 2 dongle into your PC's USB port. *1
2. Download the executable file from [here]. *2
3. Run the downloaded file, mutalk2_dfu-1.1.0.exe.

After the update, the firmware version will be v.1.0.5.

The update is complete; the 48kHz, 24bit mode will be selectable when using the mutalk 2 dongle.

*1 Only disconnect the dongle once the firmware update is completed.

*2 The operating environment of the executable file is Windows 10/11(x64).

*3 After the update, the 16kHz, 16bit mode will no longer be available, and you can use the 48kHz, 24bit mode, and 48kHz, 16bit mode.

*4 Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 You must be installed to run the updated software.

2) Update the firmware of mutalk 2

Download the mutalk 2 app from the iOS or Android store and update the firmware using the app's "Software Update" function.

After the firmware update, you can use the 48kHz, 24bit mode in USB connection mode (wired connection). Please note that when using 48kHz, 24bit mode in USB connection mode, the "Noise reduction" will be disabled, and the system will automatically reduce the microphone volume. If you need the “Noise reduction", please select the 48kHz, 16bit mode.
