Archbishop’s Picture Gallery.
When the Archbishop of Canterbury receives the portrait of him, painted by Mr. de Lazlo [sic] [4632], it will go to the completion of a gallery of all the Cantuar. portraits since 1532. These portraits are, I am told, to hang in the Archbishop’s room under the Hoare Memorial Hall of the Church House in Great Smith-street.
The portraits were collected by the late Bishop of Gloucester, Dr. Sumner Gibson. They begin with Archbishop Warham, and include such names as Cranmer, Pole, Whitgift and Sancroft.
