| The children will: - Explore forests
- Will learn about the different animals and plants that are found in the forests.
| Who lives in the forests? | - The teacher will ask the students if they remember some of the stories we have read that took place in the forest.
- Ask: Do you remember some of the animals mentioned in the stories.
- The teacher will read aloud the poem “Forest Animals.”
- Ask: What words the author uses to describe the animals? Do you know any animal that is ________? (Furry, prickly, feathery, slippery. Noisy, smelly, and skin like jelly)
- Have children look at the pictures.
- Have the children name and describe the animals that appear on the pictures.
- Have the children name other forest animal not shown in the pictures.
- Have the children describe the forest scene.
- The teacher will talk why forests are important habitats.
- Have the children answer the following questions: What is a forest? Who lives in the forest? What things do we get from the forest?
